[toc]Just weeks after being bought by Nevada’s biggest tavern gaming company, the iconic Stratosphere is becoming a Best Western.

Golden Gaming is the parent company of the PT’s Entertainment Group that runs 56 gaming tavern locations across Nevada. This includes dozens of gaming taverns in the Las Vegas area under the PT’s Pub and PT’s Gold brand names.

The company purchased American Casino and Entertainment Properties in June. The deal added four Nevada casinos to the company’s portfolio. This included the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower on the Las Vegas Strip. It also included the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada.

Stratosphere, Aquarius added to BW Premier Collection

Last week, Best Western Hotels & Resorts announced that both Stratosphere and Aquarius locations will join the company’s BW Premier Collection brand.

“It’s a very exciting day for Best Western Hotels & Resorts, as we will now offer two new and thrilling travel destinations for our loyal guests,” Best Western Hotels & Resorts VP and COO Ron Pohl said in a release.

“Whether you’re looking for exhilarating sights and gaming options, world-class dining and entertainment at your fingertips or just an unforgettable guest stay, these hotels provide it all. In addition, this fantastic partnership will allow travelers visiting these landmark properties to take advantage of our award-winning Best Western Rewards loyalty program, one of the richest loyalty programs in the industry.”

American Casino and Entertainment pleased

American Casino and Entertainment Properties CEO Frank Riolo also expressed his pleasure with the deal. He was particularly happy the properties were able to find the support a larger hotel brand without having to give up their unique identities.

“We were searching for the right soft brand to align with and it was immediately clear that Best Western Hotels & Resorts shares our commitment to delivering a unique and exceptional travel experience at a great value. Not only that, we will have access to Best Western’s second-to-none brand support, online platforms and loyalty program, while our properties maintain their iconic identities in both Las Vegas and Laughlin.”

The iconic Stratosphere hotel, casino, and tower

The Stratosphere opened in 1996, and at 1,149 feet high, it is the tallest building in Las Vegas. The property features 2,427 guest rooms and suites. Plus, there is an observation deck with 360-degree views of the entire Las Vegas Valley. There is a 24-hour casino and a newly-remodeled race and sportsbook on the grounds. The top of the tower also features a number of thrill rides.

Aquarius Casino Resort is the largest gaming resort in Laughlin, Nevada. It features 1,906 rooms and suites and a 57,000-square-foot casino.

Big deal for Best Western

Best Western Hotels & Resorts is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The hotel brand boasts a network of 4,200 hotels in more than 100 countries and territories worldwide.

The deal to add the Stratosphere and Aquarius hotels to Best Western’s portfolio adds approximately 4,500 rooms. As a result, it represents the largest deal in Best Western’s more-than 70-year history.
