Circa Sports has become the first Nevada sportsbook to publish NFL season win totals for the 2020 season. This was not their original intention, but as Circa’s sportsbook manager Chris Bennett explained to PlayNevada, they chose to fill a gap in the sports betting market that was created due to the cancellation of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Selection Sunday was scheduled to happen this past Sunday, with Circa and all other sportsbooks planning to release lines for 34 college basketball matches. The initial week of March Madness was supposed to consist of two play-in games, followed by 16 games on Thursday and another 16 on Friday.

The coronavirus pandemic is inducing alterations in everyone’s work and lifestyle. Sportsbooks across the state are in search of novel betting possibilities to provide customers who are still interested in gambling. Meanwhile, Circa Sports is featuring a selection of international games. Additionally, they’re introducing something new to bettors for their favorite US professional league.

Bennet noted early betting activity on the NFL season win totals on Sunday, particularly two significant bets placed on the Arizona Cardinals to fall short of the season win total of 7. The following day, the Cardinals added wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans to their lineup. Despite the trade, the season win total for both teams remained unchanged, with the Cardinals staying at 7 (-110) and the Texans keeping their 8.5 total. However, there was a shift in the Texans’ moneyline, which moved from -110 to -120.

The player movement leading up to the 2020 NFL season began with the Hopkins trade. Various trades took place on Monday, with teams being able to start signing free agents by Wednesday. On Tuesday, Tom Brady declared that he wouldn’t be returning to the Patriots.

Tom Brady shakes up the AFC East

Tom Brady’s departure had a minimal effect on the Patriots’ season win total, which dropped from 9 to 8.5 at Circa Sports. His exit had an equivalent impact on all AFC East teams, with each team’s total shifting by half a win.

  • Patriots from 8.5 to 9.
  • Buffalo Bills from 8 to 8.5.
  • New York Jets from 6 to 6.5
  • Miami Dolphins from 6 to 6.5.

NFL season win totals changing

Speculation continues to circulate about Tom Brady’s future team. Bettors in New Jersey can even place bets on which team TB12 will join next season. Presently, PointsBet sportsbook lists the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the favored team.

Updated NFL win totals from Circa Sports

Circa’s season win totals for NFL teams didn’t see many changes as the teams prepare to sign free agents. The vig has undergone more changes than the actual win totals. With swirling rumors and a volatile betting market, these totals are expected to continue adjusting.

The enthusiasm among NFL bettors isn’t much affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Numerous Circa Sports bettors are avoiding retail sportsbooks and opting to gamble from different locations. Bennet informed PlayNevada that about 95% of the initial bets on season win totals were placed through mobile devices.

Circa Sports is urging Nevada bettors, regardless of their wager size, to use their mobile devices for betting. Unlike many of its Nevada counterparts, Circa Sports offers the same maximum bet of $2,000 for win totals, both in-person and digitally. Frequently, Circa sets the same limits for bettors using mobile devices as those betting over-the-counter.

It is common for Nevada sportsbook operators to require high limit sports bettors to place their wagers in person at the casino, a practice that arguably discriminates against these individuals. However, this is not an appropriate time to restrict bettors who are willing to spend money. Boosting sports betting handle benefits the sportsbook operator. Moreover, enabling bettors to remain isolated during the current coronavirus pandemic is beneficial for their health.
