Registration is now open for the 2022 season of the Westgate SuperContest.
The contest for pro football handicapping continues to be among the most prestigious in the country.
The SuperContest was first initiated in 1988 at the casino then known as the Las Vegas Hilton. This year, some in-season changes to the professional football picks contest have been introduced by the Westgate.
The SuperContest will once more award the top 30 finishers at the conclusion of the 18-week professional football season. Additionally, for the first time, there will be 11 in-season bonuses in the SuperContest.
This competition provides another avenue for football enthusiasts and sports gamblers in Nevada to interact with their favorite teams and players, enjoy themselves, and profit from their betting expertise.
Signing up for the Westgate SuperContest
The Westgate SuperContest represents the ultimate professional football betting competition. The basic competition structure continues unchanged in 2022, maintaining the same format as in recent years.
Entry into the traditional SuperContest costs $1,000. Every participant is allowed a maximum of three SuperContest entries.
Registration for players is open until 3:00 p.m. sharp on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. The SuperContest starts on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, and ends on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2025.
Westgate does not charge any fees or takeouts. All contest entry funds will be awarded to the SuperContest winners.
In the previous year, the SuperContest saw the participation of 1,972 contestants. The event paid out a total of $1,972,000 collected from entry fees to the participants. The SPORTS HANDICAPPER entry emerged as the winner of the SuperContest, boasting a 62-28-0 record.
In 2022, the SuperContest winner received a prize of $335,800.
Every participant is required to register for the SuperContest in person at the sportsbook located within the Westgate in Las Vegas. It is not necessary for players to be residents of Nevada to participate in the competition.
Players from outside the state can engage a proxy service to make weekly selections for the SuperContest. A representative from the proxy service must be present with the participant during the SuperContest registration.
Playing the Westgate SuperContest
For each of the 18 weeks of the pro football season, SuperContest participants will select five games and predict their outcomes against a fixed point spread.
Once the season concludes, the SuperContest will distribute the remaining money to the top 30 finishers, after making payments to the in-season contestants.
This year, the SuperContest will feature a variety of in-season contests.
- three contests lasting six weeks each
- six contests each lasting three weeks
- two contests lasting nine weeks each
The total payouts for the first three places in the three-week contests will be $50,000, $10,000, and $5,000 respectively.
The first four places in the six-week contests will receive payouts of $75,000, $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000.
Finally, the first five places in the nine-week contests will receive the following payouts:

The total guaranteed prize money for the in-season contest is $1,105,000. All remaining entry fees will be awarded to the top 30 finishers in the main SuperContest.
SuperContest Gold is open for participation by high rollers. This version of the contest adheres to the same rules as the traditional SuperContest but has fewer competitors due to its $5,000 entry fee. The victor of last year’s SuperContest Gold walked away with a $435,000 prize.
SuperContest Gold awards all of its entry fees to the winner. The prize is exclusively won by the participant who has the top professional football handicapping record at the season’s conclusion.
The SuperContest Reboot, a contest for the latter half of the pro-football season (weeks 10-18), requires a $500 entry fee.
Just as with other competitions, the SuperContest Reboot returns 100% of the entry fees. However, only those who rank in the top 10 will receive a prize.
