Beginning Sunday, Nevada will officially be home to an NFL team. The Las Vegas Raiders are about to kick off their first season.
The NFL team previously played its home games in Oakland, Los Angeles, and then Oakland again. The team begins its first season as the Las Vegas Raiders on the road against the Carolina Panthers.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ first home game will be played at Allegiant Stadium across the street from Mandalay Bay on Monday, Sept. 21. Unfortunately, there won’t be any fans in attendance to watch the first game — or any game — in Las Vegas this season.
While fans won’t be able to watch Las Vegas’s newest home team play in person, the city is behind the team. Even the Statue of Liberty replica outside of New York-New York is a Las Vegas Raiders fan.
#RaiderNation has made its way to Las Vegas! Loving the new look, Lady Liberty. 🤩

Looking ahead to the Raiders’ season
Head coach Jon Gruden and quarterback Derek Carr will lead the Raiders into the new season, as the team looks to improve on its 7-9 record from 2019. Going into the season, sportsbooks and the betting public seem to think the team will finish with a similar record this year.
The Raiders season win total at Circa Sports is 7.5 with more juice on the under. The extra juice, or vig, usually means that’s where more money is being wagered.
Looking at the season as a whole, there are plenty of wagering options available now. Once the season begins, odds may change or be taken off the board at the various sportsbooks.
Las Vegas Raiders Week 1 odds
When William Hill opened NFL odds in May, the Raiders were +1 underdogs to the Panthers. That line has shifted and the Raiders are now 3-point favorites over the Panthers heading into the weekend.
The line could change as kickoff gets closer. BetMGM is currently showing -115 on the Raiders’ side.
Las Vegas Raiders preseason futures odds
Las Vegas Raiders preseason futures odds haven’t changed all that much since May. Jeffrey Benson, sportsbook operations manager for Circa Sports, tells PlayNevada, “We haven’t noticed a significant uptick in Raider betting yet. We do have some liability on them in futures.”
Based on the current odds from Circa Sports, the Raiders are seen as a middle of the pack team that is a long shot to win the Super Bowl in 2021.
- Raiders to win the Super Bowl: 40-1
- Raiders will NOT win the Super Bowl: -7200
- Raiders to win the AFC: 18.5-1
- Raiders to win the AFC West: 12.5-1
- Raiders season win total: 7.5 (over +115, under -135)
- Will Raiders make the playoffs?: yes +235, no -280
- Most regular season wins: 125-1
Circa Sports also has odds for exactly how many wins the Las Vegas Raiders will have for the 2020 NFL Season.
- 0 wins: 300-1
- 1 win: 125-1
- 2 wins: 35-1
- 3 wins: 15-1
- 4 wins: 10-1
- 5 wins: 7.5-1
- 6 wins: 5.5-1
- 7 wins: 4.25-1
- 8 wins: 4.75-1
- 9 wins: 6-1
- 10 wins: 8.5-1
- 11 wins: 12-1
- 12 wins: 18-1
- 13 wins: 35-1
- 14 wins: 100-1
- 15 wins: 250-1
- 16 wins: 500-1
The Raiders’ season win total of 7.5 is reflected in exactly how many games the team is predicted to win this year. Both seven and eight wins are the most probable according to the current odds.
There’s even a slight lean to the under as the odds for six wins is lower than nine wins.
Las Vegas Raiders individual player prop bets
There is a very limited number of player prop bets for the Las Vegas Raiders. This is more likely due to the mediocre prognostication than the team’s popularity in Nevada.
Much like all futures bets, it pays to shop around for individual player prop bets. Take “most valuable player” in the NFL for example.
Derek Carr is 80-1 to win the MVP award using the Boyd Gaming B-Connected app. The same wager is 60-1 at William Hill sportsbooks. The lower odds will pay a winning bettor less.
A $10 bet on Derek Carr to win MVP will pay the following at the two sportsbooks:
Boyd: $10 x 80 = $800
William Hill: $10 x 60 = $600
The difference in the winning payout for this $10 wager is $200. Mobile sports betting apps make it easy to shop around for the best prices for all wagers.
William Hill has more individual prop bets than most Nevada sportsbook operators.
Jon Gruden is 30-1 to win the Coach of the Year award. He has the same odds to win the award as luminaries like Adam Gase (New York Jets) and Matt Patricia (Detroit Lions), among others.
Henry Ruggs III is in better company to take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The odds on Ruggs to win the award are 12-1 at William Hill. This makes him tied for the fourth favorite to win the award with Indianapolis Colts rookie running back Jonathan Taylor.
Football season is finally here!
