Starting January 10, WSOP.com kicks off its Winter Poker Classic for the second year in a row in Nevada. This event, also known as WPC II, marks the beginning of WSOP.com’s annual event, The Series of Online Championships 2016. The Series of Online Championships comprises four poker tournament series in total.
The WPC II starts at 4pm on Sunday, January 10, with a guarantee of $25,000 and will take place daily until the main event on January 17. The total guaranteed prize pool for the WPC II is $85,000.
Winter Poker Classic II Tournaments
The Winter Classic encompasses eight tournaments, each held on a different day from January 10 to 17. The tournament buy-ins for this series vary, with a range from $10 to $200. Cash guarantees for this series start at $1,500 for the tournament with the lowest buy-in, escalating up to $30,000 for the Main Event. In addition to the prize money, the champion of WPC II will also be awarded a WSOP.com Champions Ring, akin to those distributed to victors at World Series of Poker Circuit Events.

The Series of Online Championships
The Series of Online Championships, also known as SOCs, commence in January with the Winter Poker Classic and culminate in October with the Fall Poker Festival. Every series is made up of seven tournaments as well as a Main Event. The Main Events are characterized by a higher buy-in, larger guaranteed prize pool, and the winner receives a championship ring.
The top finisher on the Online Poker Championships Leader Board is also awarded a championship ring.
