The Main Event of the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) is currently taking place at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas. With 8,663 entries this year, it ranks as the second highest in the 53-year history of the event.
For the first time in history, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) has introduced a Celebrity Master of Ceremonies. Vince Vaughn made a memorable appearance at the 53rd annual WSOP Main Event on July 6.
The grand MC, Vaughn, was dressed in regal attire suitable for a leader. He was escorted into the Bally’s Events Center by an entire Roman Royal Court. Vaughn expressed:
As the Master of Ceremonies at the World Series of Poker, my excitement to contribute on the Las Vegas Strip by initiating the world’s largest and most esteemed poker tournament is unparalleled. We’re talking about the Main Event here, where a World Champion deserves an astounding trophy, not just a mediocre ring.
The WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas will proceed until July 20. The victor will receive a grand prize of $10 million along with a newly crafted Main Event bracelet.
The newly crowned WSOP Main Event champion will receive a custom-made bracelet, crafted from 500 grams of 10 karats white and yellow gold. The bracelet is adorned with 2,767 assorted precious stones, including rubies, as well as black and white diamonds.
The 2022 bracelet, for the first time, features a detachable golden poker chip at its center, which can serve as a cardholder. In total, the highest eight players in the 2022 WSOP will each receive a minimum of $1 million.
This year’s WSOP has a total prize pool of $80,772,475 for 1300 players. It’s now time for players nationwide to prepare for the 2025 WSOP.
2022-2023 WSOP Circuit schedule
This year, the 2022-2023 WSOP Circuit (WSOP-C) schedule commences immediately after the conclusion of the Main Event in Las Vegas.
The regional WSOP-C is set to start its 18th year in Durant, OK on July 20. The next calendar year will see no fewer than 25 WSOP-C stops across the nation. An additional 10 circuit events will be announced by WSOP in the upcoming weeks.
The WSOP-C is set to return to some normality. The format for the $1 million freeroll will be similar to that of the 2021-22 season.
Any individual who wins an official gold ring from either the live or online WSOP-C events up until May 2025 will earn the right to participate in the exclusive “Tournament of Champions” event. This event is a part of the 2025 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas.
Ty Stewart, who holds the positions of Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker, says:
“We anticipate a massive response to the full-scale comeback of our regional mid-stakes tour, given the record-breaking turnout we’ve seen this summer so far.”
The majority of WSOP-C events are set to occur at well-known casinos nationwide. The upcoming season will introduce a new event, scheduled to happen at the Grand Victoria Casino in Chicago, IL, from November 10 to 21, 2022.
2022-2023 WSOP-C schedule
The initial schedule for the WSOP-C will tour the country, making several repeat stops for those unable to attend the initial events. The inaugural event is set to occur in Choctaw Durant, Oklahoma and is also considered an event for players from the Dallas region.
WSOP-C events will once more adopt the Big Blind Ante format. Additionally, WSOP will maintain the increased starting chips allocation that was introduced in the 2019-20 season.
WSOP-C stops will adopt uniform tournament structures and payouts, guaranteeing consistent treatment for players at all events, regardless of location. However, this is contingent on local and regulatory laws.
WSOP encourages all venues to include Seniors and Ladies’ events in the WSOP-C schedule. Victors of these events will be eligible to compete in the “Tournament of Champions” in Las Vegas.
The majority of WSOP-C events are scheduled to occur over a span of four days, starting on a Thursday.
