The 2022 NFL season has officially kicked off! The Las Vegas Raiders led the pack as the first NFL team to have its players report to this season’s training camp.
The team is gearing up for its last preseason match against the New England Patriots. The regular season will commence with a game against the Chargers in Los Angeles on Sept. 11.
The odds for the regular season opener’s first game have slightly altered since their release in May. Las Vegas is currently just a +3.5 point underdog, a slight decrease from their previous +4 point underdog status.
The game’s over/under total has decreased to 51.5 from 53.5 since May.
NFL player awards odds
The Raiders are primarily a seasoned team with several outstanding players. The futures betting odds for NFL awards indicate how the Raiders’ veterans and rookies compare to other players in the league.
A wide range of individual player futures and prop bets are offered by some states where sports betting is legal. However, Nevada sportsbooks adhere to the basics. Only a handful of awards betting options are available at some sportsbooks.
Even fewer exist with season-long player prop bets.
MVP
Typically, quarterbacks are the recipients of the MVP award. The 14 players most likely to receive this award are also quarterbacks.
Derek Carr of the Raiders and Jalen Hurts from the Philadelphia Eagles are both tied with odds of 13/14 to win the award.
The inclination of this award towards quarterbacks is well illustrated by Devante Adams. This newly recruited wide receiver is the top player in his position in the NFL.
Even though Adams is skilled at his position, his chances of winning MVP are lower than average quarterbacks like Daniel Jones from New York Giants, Ryan Tannehill from Tennessee Titans, and even Zach Wilson from New York Jets.
The MVP odds for the Raiders are as follows:
Derek Carr has odds of 25-1, Devante Adams has odds of 100-1, Josh Jacobs has odds of 500-1, and Darren Waller also has odds of 500-1.
Offensive Player Of The Year
Also favoring skill position players are the odds for the AP Offensive Player of the Year. This award, as implied by its name, is bestowed upon the best player of the year.
Adams, from the Raiders, unsurprisingly has the best chances of winning this award according to BetMGM. He currently ranks fifth overall in the Offensive Player Of The Year odds. The top contender for this award currently is Jonathan Taylor from the Indianapolis Colts with his odds standing at 9-1.
These are the chances for Raiders players to win the Offensive Player of the Year award.
Adams, Devante: 20-1, Carr, Derek: 80-1, Jacobs, Josh: 125-1
Offensive Rookie Of The Year
The Raiders exchanged their first and second-round draft picks this year for Adams. Generally, offensive player awards are bestowed upon skill position players like quarterbacks and running backs.
Since the Raiders’ first draft pick, guard Dylan Parham, was not until the third round, the team lacks a player with high chances of winning the offensive rookie of the year.
Zamir White, a fourth-round pick, is the sole Raiders player contending for the Offensive Rookie Of The Year award. He has 50-1 odds at BetMGM.
Defensive Rookie Of The Year
Neil Farrell, a defensive tackle, was the highest drafted defensive player for the Raiders. However, the Raiders’ second fourth-round pick in the NFL Draft did not make the Defensive Rookie Of The Year odds at BetMGM.
