[toc]Players on WSOP.com can end April with a bang thanks to a poker tournament series featuring over $100,000 in guarantees. The site’s Spring Poker Series III tournament series kicked off on April 23 and continues through April 30.
Series culminates with $50,000 guaranteed Main Event
There are eight tournaments to choose from this week as part of the online poker tournament series, but the jewel in the crown of the Spring Poker Series III is the $50,000 guaranteed Main Event.
The Main Event will run on Sunday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. PT. The event is a $200 buy-in tournament with rebuys and add-ons.
In addition to the large prize pool, the tournament will also award a WSOP.com Champion’s Ring to the winner. Similar in appearance to the WSOP Circuit ring, the Champion’s Rings are reserved for winners of the site’s biggest online events.
Other online poker tournaments feature low buy-ins
Like the Main Event, Sunday’s opening tournament featured a $200 buy-in. Those two events are the highest buy-in tournaments on the schedule. The other tournaments range in buy-in from $10 to $100.
Here is a look at the remaining Spring Poker Series III tournament schedule. Each tournament begins at 6 p.m. PT:
- Monday, April 24 – $7,500 GTD $50 buy-in no-limit hold’em

All told, the series offers $115,000 in guarantees.
Series last chance to practice before WSOP begins
The guarantees are not the only reason players might be drawn to the online poker series. The event will be one of the last chances to get in multi-table tournament practice on WSOP.com before the 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP) gets underway next month.
The WSOP is the world’s biggest annual live poker festival, but this year the online component of the series is bigger than ever. Starting in 2015, the event began offering an online bracelet event. The tournaments started on WSOP.com, then played out the final table live at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
This year, there will be two big changes on the online bracelet front. First of all, the online bracelet events will play out entirely online. The second big change is the expansion from a single online bracelet event to three.
The flagship online bracelet event is a $1,000 buy-in tournament. One of the new events, The Little Grind, is a $333 buy-in event which gives smaller stakes grinders a chance at poker’s most prestigious piece of jewelry. This event runs on June, 3 at 3:33 p.m.
The flagship event is back and runs on July 7 at 2 p.m. There is also a new online bracelet events for higher stakes. The $3,333 buy-in Big Grind plays on July 1 at 3:33 p.m.
Those events are still a few weeks away, but the Spring series is a good opportunity to scope out the competition, familiarize yourself with the WSOP.com client, and pick up a ring to go along with your bracelet.
