Resorts World Las Vegas, another casino on the Vegas Strip, has started charging a $10 self-parking fee to some guests, joining others in the paid self-parking trend.

Unlike other Vegas casinos, Resorts World’s Genting Rewards program allows all members to park for free. In contrast, only higher-tier rewards members receive complimentary paid parking at other casinos on the Strip.

You can register for Genting Rewards at this link. By scanning their Genting Rewards card or using the Resorts World app, guests can avail free self-parking.

Furthermore, Resorts World has stated that it will not impose a higher fee during events taking place at or around the property. The company made the following announcement:

Non-members of the Genting Rewards can instantly avail of free parking and other perks by enrolling in the loyalty appreciation and recognition program on-site or via the Resorts World Genting mobile app on their smartphones. Members are entitled to free self-parking at any time, regardless of the day or any special event.

The decision to alter the policy is not particularly surprising. The property of Resorts World had parking payment kiosks set up outside the garages when it first opened in 2021. However, due to decreased visitation amidst the pandemic, the company chose to waive parking fees.

Resorts World has joined the majority of casinos on the Vegas Strip this year by charging for self-parking. Since shortly after its opening, the resort has also been charging non-hotel guests a daily valet parking fee of $25.

Vegas Strip parking fees

Resorts World’s $10 flat self-parking fee is unlike other Vegas Strip casinos such as Caesars and MGM Resorts, which charge parking fees based on the duration of a guest’s stay at the property.

Resorts World charges almost less than half the rate for a full day of parking than the biggest casinos on the Vegas Strip.

Parking fees at Caesars start at $15 for a duration of 1-3 hours. However, complimentary parking is available for Caesars Rewards members who have achieved Platinum status or higher.

Visitors and hotel guests are charged $18 for all-day parking. The cost of valet services depends on the property and day. Valet fees are typically higher during weekends, holidays, and events compared to weekdays.

Self-parking at MGM Resorts costs $15 for one to four hours and $18 for over four hours.

Complimentary self-parking is received by MGM Rewards members who attain the Pearl tier or above.

The cost to use valet services at an MGM Resorts property varies between $18 and $35, contingent on the property and day.

Residents of Nevada get three hours of parking at no cost with a valid ID issued by the state.

Free self-parking on the Vegas Strip

Most properties on the Vegas Strip are occupied by Caesars and MGM Resorts. Nevertheless, there are a few casinos on the Vegas Strip that provide free self-parking. Interestingly, these casinos are situated on the north end of the Strip, close to Resorts World. The casinos offering free self-parking include:

  • Sahara
  • Encore (and Wynn)
  • The Palazzo and The Venetian
  • Island of Treasure
  • The Stratford
  • Circus Circus

Only The Strat and Treasure Island do not charge for valet among the properties above.
