According to a financial report released this week by the state Gaming Control Board, the Nevada casino industry generated $949 million in gaming revenue in September. [toc]
The amount represented a 3.6 percent increase from the $916.5 million won in the same month the previous year.
Nevada casinos experienced their best September since September 2013’s $958.8 million. The gaming win for September reached a peak of $1.06 billion in 2007.
The casinos garnered $11.2 billion in winnings in the year leading up to the end of September, which marked a 1.4 percent increase from the earnings of the same period the previous year.
The gaming win has risen by 2.8 percent to $2.8 billion for the fiscal year from July 1, 2016, to September 30, 2016.
Games and tables
The total revenue generated from games and tables for the month was $362.9 million, marking a 5.5 percent rise from the same month the previous year.

- Roulette: $31.6 million

The poker figure includes the revenue from online poker in Nevada. The Silver State does not provide a separate breakdown for online and brick-and-mortar play as there are only two operators, WSOP.com and Real Gaming.
Currently, the state only permits online casino gambling in the form of poker, however, sports betting is allowed through mobile devices.
In September, there were 2,660 blackjack tables across the state, approximately four times more than poker, the next most popular table game, which had 606 tables.
Slot machines
The total slot win for the month amounted to $586 million, marking a 2.4 percent increase from the previous year.
During September, there were 145,300 slot machines throughout the state. The win percentage across the state was 6.6 percent.
Nevada sports betting
During the month, Nevada casinos made a profit of $41 million from sports betting, marking a year-over-year increase of 15.2 percent.
In September, $440.9 million was bet and the sports books won 9.3 percent of these wagers.

Approximately $4 million was earned on parlay cards.
Las Vegas Strip performance
Casinos on or near the Las Vegas Strip collectively won $542.5 million, marking a robust increase of 7.5 percent.
Games and tables earned casinos $281.4 million, while slot machines brought in $261.2 million. Additionally, Strip-area properties generated $19.2 million in revenue from sports betting, which is counted as part of the games and tables earnings.
For the month, Clark County in its entirety recorded a gaming win of $808.8 million, marking a 3.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Year-over-year gains were experienced by all counties with gaming.
Research from the University of Nevada Las Vegas indicates that the Strip has been underperforming compared to the entire state over the previous six months.
Statewide gaming revenues increased by 1.2 percent over the past six months through September. During the same period, the Strip’s gaming win rose by a slight 0.4 percent.
UNLV states that the Strip experiences more extreme variations in its monthly results due to the volatility of baccarat.
Taxes collected by Nevada
In September 2016, the state gathered $63.4 million in percentage fees from the taxable revenues produced.
Compared to the same period a year ago, there was a 9.1-percent increase, equating to $5.3 million.
