The event schedule for the 2018 World Series of Poker has been made public.

The 2018 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is scheduled to take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, from May 29 to July 17. The event’s schedule comprises 78 WSOP bracelet events. Additionally, a unique feature of this year’s event is that twelve various tournaments will commence after the start of the WSOP Main Event, a first in the event’s history.

The series will conclude with the return of the Big One for One Drop, which has a buy-in of $1 million, and will take place from July 15 to 17.

The 2018 WSOP Main Event

The 2018 WSOP Main Event, with a buy-in of $10,000, is scheduled to take place from July 2 to 14. The event will commence a bit earlier than in previous years, but it will maintain its traditional structure of three starting flights, with the last one being on Independence Day, July 4. For the first time, players will gather on Day 3, July 7, and the games will continue daily until a champion emerges.

ESPN and PokerGO, a subscription service for poker content, will once again provide live coverage as they did in 2017. Furthermore, the release of the complete TV and live streaming schedules for all 2018 WSOP events will be announced in the future.

The comprehensive 2018 WSOP schedule showcases a diverse range of poker games at customary buy-in levels. However, the schedule has been enhanced with the addition of nine new events. These are:

  • Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em with a $10,000 Prize
  • No-Limit Hold’em High Roller $100,000
  • $365 PLO GIANT
  • $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em
  • $565 Online Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed at WSOP.com
  • $1,500 BOUNTY Pot-Limit Omaha
  • $1,000 DOUBLE-STACK No-Limit Hold’em
  • $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em: The Closer
  • No-Limit Hold’em High Roller $50,000

The $10,000 Tag Team event, two $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em events, and two $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em events have been removed from the tournament schedule.

Four WSOP.com online bracelet events scheduled

This year, the WSOP.com Nevada online poker site will hold four official WSOP gold bracelet events, including the inaugural online Pot-Limit Omaha 6-handed WSOP bracelet event.

The Las Vegas casino will keep the starting times for most events identical to the last two years. The WSOP states that most weekday events will start either at 11 a.m. or 3 p.m. Furthermore, weekend events are set to start at 10 a.m., and afternoon flights are planned for 5 p.m.

The Pavilion, Brasilia, Miranda, and Amazon ballrooms at the Rio Convention Center will persist in hosting tournaments and cash games as per the schedule. The WSOP has even stated that they plan to distribute around 500 poker tables throughout these rooms.

The WSOP intends to publish structure sheets for all its events on their website in January. However, these structures are currently pending regulatory approval. Registration online and in-person is anticipated to start in March 2018.

Following up on a record-breaking year

Starting in February, WSOP.com will begin online satellites into WSOP events. In 2017, over 1,000 seats were secured through WSOP.com.

Furthermore, the 2017 WSOP set record-breaking figures, attracting a total of 120,995 entries and generating total prize pools over $231 million. The 2018 WSOP will celebrate the event’s 49th anniversary.

The World Series of Poker website provides the full 78-event schedule and additional information.
