The goal date for Nevada casinos to reopen is June 4.
Derek Stevens, the proprietor of The D and Golden Gate casinos, declared that his properties will be prepared to open on the specified date. As per the tradition, the autonomous casino operator is set to deliver more than just unlocking the doors to his casinos.
Derek Stevens is launching a “Keep America Flying” promotion, offering 1,000 complimentary flights to Las Vegas from over 20 significant U.S. cities.
The promotional video below confirms that anyone wishing to visit Las Vegas could avail flights. Naturally, the preference would be for visitors to stay at one of his two open hotels, but this was not mandatory.
Derek Stevens’ third casino, Circa Resort, is currently being constructed downtown Las Vegas, right across the street from the Golden Gate.
Keep America Flying program
The promotion aims to invigorate the tourism and airline sectors while rekindling the country’s memory of enjoyment in Las Vegas. Participants could reserve a complimentary one-way flight to Las Vegas by signing up at theD.com.
Tickets were offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The initial 1,000 flights were snapped up within an hour. Later in the afternoon, Stevens introduced an additional 700 free flights from new locations, which were also claimed within a few hours. Stevens discussed his selection in a promotional video:
As we start to reopen our establishments throughout the city, we take pride in assisting to bolster travel to Las Vegas, while also supporting American airlines that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We eagerly await the safe return of visitors to our city, to remind them of why we’re known as the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World.’ While we would certainly appreciate visitors taking some time to visit Downtown Las Vegas, our main objective is to welcome people back to Las Vegas to enjoy the unique attractions and amenities that make it one of the most remarkable places on the planet.
Vital Vegas reported that Wednesday was a particularly busy day for room reservations at both The D and Golden Gate casinos.

Several American airlines, including Allegiant, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Sun Country Airlines, offered free one-way flights. After registering, guests had various flight options and reservations to choose from, all of which could be arranged via the concierge team at the D.

The campaign was a success, with benefits for all involved. Stevens gained media exposure that undoubtedly surpassed his expenditure on flights. Simultaneously, 1,700 individuals were gifted free one-way airfare to Las Vegas, providing them a trip away from home.
Coming Soon…Circa Resort
Construction, unlike casinos, is classified as an essential business. Consequently, while Stevens’ current properties had to close their doors, work on his latest project, Circa Resort, continued. This new casino-resort located in downtown Las Vegas is still under construction but remains on track to open in December as initially planned.
The Circa Resort is set to feature a two-story casino floor, equipped with 1,360 slot machines and 49 table games. The highlight of the casino is expected to be the world’s largest sportsbook. This multi-level sportsbook will boast a high-definition screen with 78 million pixels.
Another unmatched amenity in downtown Las Vegas will be the rooftop pool amphitheater. With six pools, an outdoor gaming area, and year-round availability, the pool deck is a standout feature. It can accommodate up to 4,000 people pre-social distancing and features a massive screen with nearly 14 million pixels.
