The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is set to resume as an in-person event at Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, commencing September 30. A multitude of participants will engage in the live poker event held in Las Vegas. Additionally, individuals based in Nevada and New Jersey will have the opportunity to participate in WSOP tournaments online.
Starting from 5:30 p.m. PT on October 3rd, WSOP.com will host a gold bracelet tournament for Nevada and New Jersey players. These events will be held online every Sunday throughout the duration of the tournament. The final online tournaments are scheduled for November 21st.
Online poker events aren’t new for WSOP
WSOP has previously hosted online bracelet events; this is not their first time. Last year, the poker tournament was a blend of in-person and online events. In contrast to 2020 where the majority of WSOP occurred online, this year will see a reduction in online events due to a full live event taking place in Las Vegas.
The Senior Vice President of the World Series of Poker at Caesars Entertainment, Ty Stewart, stated:
We have always been committed to offering players the most choices of any poker festival globally in our philosophy. The WSOP.com online bracelets have a proven history of substantial prize pools, making them an excellent choice for players who wish to participate in multiple tables during a live tournament or play from their home or hotel’s comfort.
Stewart mentioned that in 2021, online poker serves as a crucial form of tournament poker. A total of 10 gold bracelets will be up for grabs on WSOP.com in Nevada and New Jersey.
Online participation isn’t a completely new concept this year, as it has had its importance in the past as well. In fact, in 2019, the WSOP organized nine online bracelet events that ran parallel to the offline series.
Actually, online WSOP bracelets have been in existence since 2015. The cumulative prize pool for online events amounts to $9,880,110.
WSOP 2021 online bracelet events
The WSOP 2021 online bracelet tournaments commence with two events on Oct. 3. Beginning with a $5,300 No-Limit Texas Hold’em Freezeout tournament at 3:30 p.m. PT, the WSOP.com event is first on the agenda. Following this, the “Big 500” with a buy-in of $500 will occur two hours later. Participants in the Big 500 will have the opportunity to re-enter up to three times.
Key events from the 2021 WSOP.com include the $7,777 “Lucky Sevens” High Roller and the $666 No-Limit Texas Hold’em event scheduled for Halloween.
This year will also feature satellite events where players can secure a spot in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold Em Championship, also known as the Main Event. In addition, two “Twenty-Five Seat Scramble” events will be held.
On Oct. 31 and Nov. 2 respectively, these mega-satellite events will be held. Each event will have a buy-in of $215, with either 25 seats available or a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000 on each occasion.
WSOP.com has already granted over 100 tournament seats this year. Daily satellites for the following day’s live tournament event will be provided by the website. Additionally, each day in October, the tournament will guarantee a $10k seat to the Main Event.
