For the second time in a little over a month a $10 million-plus Megabucks jackpot hit at a Las Vegas-area casino.
In fact, a Henderson, Nevada retiree identified as Roger booked a $10,192,523.88 Megabucks jackpot win playing slots at Fiesta Henderson this past Saturday, September 16, 2017. IGT’s Megabucks jackpot has now hit twice 2017.
Southern California’s Rodolfo T. hit an $11.8 million Megabucks jackpot at the Fremont Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas on August 8, 2017.
The Megabucks jackpot resets at $10 million.
Additionally, players hit it twice in 2016. First, 64-year-old Northern Nevada gold miner Efren Aguirre hit a $12.5 million Megabucks Nevada jackpot at Gold Dust West Casino in Elko in March. Then, an Oahu, Hawaii resident hit a $10.7 million jackpot on the IGT Megabucks Wynn Wheel slot machine at Wynn Las Vegas in August.
$39.7 million remains largest Megabucks jackpot ever
However, the largest Megabucks jackpot ever remains the $39.7 million prize hit in 2003 at Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Roger told a Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter he moved to Henderson from Palm Beach, Florida, within the past few months. In fact, He quickly became a regular slots player at Fiesta Henderson since that time.
“I’ll probably spend most of it on alcohol, women and gambling,” he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The rest of it I’ll waste.”
Roger claimed he had no idea what he’d won until an attendant notified him. Additionally, he said he plans to keep relatively quiet about the win to avoid unwanted attention.
