Construction is still ongoing for Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, but it has now secured a casino operator and a distinct sportsbook operator. Betfred is set to run the sportsbook, whereas Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment will manage the remainder of the casino, which includes the slot machines and table games.
The sportsbook will be incorporated into the Mohegan Sun Casino located within Virgin Las Vegas. The new upscale casino and resort, occupying 60,000 square feet, is being constructed using the framework of the former Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
New sportsbook operator in Nevada
Not only is Betfred new to Nevada, but it’s also opening its first sportsbooks in the US. Betfred USA, a branch of the European Betfred Group, established its inaugural US office in Las Vegas in 2019.
Besides operating sportsbooks in Colorado, Iowa, and Pennsylvania, Betfred USA also operates in Las Vegas. This will mark their initial venture in Nevada.

The choice to employ Betfred for operating the sportsbook comes as quite a shock. Mohegan Gaming, which presently runs casinos in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, utilizes Unibet as its sportsbook partner in these states.
CG Technology used to run the sportsbook inside the Hard Rock casino before it closed. Nonetheless, the operator recently sold its assets to William Hill. Mohegan Gaming had the option to choose an existing Nevada sportsbook operator for their inaugural casino in the state, but they decided to try something new.
The departure of two operators, CG Technology and Caesars Entertainment sportsbooks, from Las Vegas will give sports bettors another option to welcome.
The sportsbook inside Mohegan Sun Casino Las Vegas, which is branded as Betfred Sports, will include:

Virgin Las Vegas casino taking shape
Sir Richard Branson declared in 2018 that Virgin Hotels was set to arrive in Las Vegas. The initial Virgin property in Las Vegas is a makeover of the erstwhile Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, located just a short distance from the Vegas Strip. Despite the global slowdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction of the new property has been steadily progressing. It is anticipated that Virgin Las Vegas will open its doors to the public before the year concludes.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas revealed last year that it will collaborate with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment to run its casino. Recently, they unveiled a logo for the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
