BetMGM Championship at Aria Las Vegas

A new large poker extravaganza is coming to Las Vegas.

The inaugural BetMGM Poker Championship will be held from June 23-26 in Las Vegas, specifically at Aria, marking the latest addition to the city’s poker tournament scene.

The BetMGM Poker Championship is set to be a part of the broader Aria Poker Classic. The poker activities during the summer will take place at Aria, from June 1 to July 17.

“The inaugural BetMGM Poker Championship will take place in Las Vegas during a highly exhilarating period of the poker season,” stated Luke Staudenmaier, the Director of Poker at BetMGM.

Staudenmaier continued by saying:

We’re excited that the Championship has become a crucial component of this year’s Poker Classic, reinforcing Aria’s status as a legendary poker brand. Our partnership with MGM Resorts allows us to continue leveraging event programming and connecting with players in their preferred poker rooms and online, across its top-tier U.S. properties.

The main attraction at the BetMGM Poker Championship at Aria is a no-limit hold ’em tournament with a buy-in of $3,500. This tournament comes with a guaranteed prize of $1 million.

In addition to the three-day event, Aria will be hosting a $600 buy-in BetMGM Poker Mystery Bounty for the first time on Saturday, June 25.

Online poker players from each of the following states, who are on BetMGM, can take part in daily qualifiers and weekly satellites to win entry to the event and other prizes:

  • New Jersey
  • Michigan
  • Pennsylvania

BetMGM currently does not provide an online poker room in Nevada. However, this could hint at the possibility of a BetMGM online poker room being launched in Nevada in the near future.

BetMGM’s online poker packages include:

  • Purchase entry for the BetMGM Poker Championship
  • Travel expenses
  • Staying five nights at Aria

The entry fee alone is worth $3,500. The current rates for a hotel room at Aria this weekend are between $229 and $299 per night, exclusive of resort fee and taxes. In total, this offers a substantial pre-tournament reward for poker players in the three states where BetMGM online poker rooms are available.

WSOP Not The Only Game In Town

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) used to be the sole major live summer poker event in Las Vegas. However, that has changed. This summer, the city will host a range of large poker events.

This summer, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is relocating to the Vegas Strip. For the first time, WSOP events will be held at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas. Caesars, the owner of both Bally’s and WSOP, is in the midst of rebranding the casino.

Ultimately, the WSOP should be held at Horseshoe Las Vegas. This would represent a nostalgic return for the WSOP brand, given its origins at the downtown Las Vegas Horseshoe casino.

Visiting poker players in Las Vegas have the opportunity to join the WSOP on the Vegas Strip, in addition to a range of other poker events throughout the city.

Summer Poker Events Around Las Vegas

This summer, at least four other poker events are taking place in Las Vegas. Poker players have the opportunity to participate in more events on the Vegas Strip, or they can go downtown or west for additional action.

The DeepStack Series at the Venetian is already in progress. This series, featuring three months of live poker events, will continue until July 31.

The Venetian promises to offer over $22 million in prizes during the event. The complete schedule of the Venetian DeepStack Series events happening this summer is as follows.

The No-Limit Hold ‘em Championship, with a buy-in of $3,500, boasts the largest prize pool of $3.5 million. The full schedule of Wynn’s Summer Classic events is as follows.

This summer, the Grand Poker Series is being hosted by the Golden Nugget. The series is scheduled to run from May 31 to July 3, taking place at the casino located at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas.

This series features events with guaranteed prize pools ranging from $250,000 to $1,000,000, with many events offering a guaranteed prize of $250,000.

The Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series features one event with a prize of $500,000 and another with a prize of a million dollars. Access the complete schedule for the Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series here.

The 2022 Orleans Summer Open is set to take place at the Boyd Casinos property, located just off the Vegas Strip, from May 31 to July 10. The events will be held at the Orleans.

The No-Limit Hold ‘Em Championship event in mid-June, with a buy-in of $1,000, boasts the series’ largest guaranteed prize pool. This tournament offers $750,000 in guaranteed prizes.
