Win wraps online bracelet events
This was the final bracelet event listed on the online schedule out of four events, which boast some noteworthy records:
The first WSOP.com event marked a record in the regulated US online marketplace, with the largest field online tournament (2,972 participants). It was also the largest online tournament ever held in Nevada.
Second event on WSOP.com: the first win on WSOP.com outside Nevada and the inaugural online pot-limit Omaha event.
Third event on WSOP.com: biggest no-limit hold’em championship
Second player wins bracelet both live and online in record-breaking field at fourth WSOP.com event.
Kornuth’s journey to WSOP.com title
Kornuth hails from Colorado and currently resides in Las Vegas. He is a professional poker player and the founder of Chip Leader Coaching.
In 2010, he won his first bracelet in a $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event.
Kornuth joins Nipun Java as the only online winner to also have a live bracelet. Java was part of a tag team at the WSOP last year that won a $1,000 prize. He then shortly won the $1,000 online championship.
Kornuth is well-acquainted with major victories: his cumulative live earnings amount to $6,303,850 and his highest single win of $641,140 was achieved when he finished third in the 2015 PCA No Limit Hold’em Main Event.
The event, which offered unlimited re-entry for one day, began with 25,000 starting chips and 20-minute levels. Late registration was open for four hours. Players registered for this event online through WSOP.com Nevada and New Jersey and it was played entirely on these platforms.
