Circa Sports has become the first Nevada sportsbook to announce NFL season win totals for the 2020 season. Although this was not initially planned, Circa Sportsbook Manager Chris Bennett conveyed to PlayNevada that they opted to fill a gap left in the sports betting market due to the cancellation of the NCAA basketball tournament.
Selection Sunday was expected to be on Sunday, and Circa and all other sportsbooks would have been establishing lines for 34 college basketball games. The initial week of March Madness was scheduled to feature two play-in games, followed by 16 games on Thursday and another 16 on Friday.
The coronavirus pandemic is forcing everyone to alter their lifestyle and work habits. In light of this, sportsbooks throughout the state are exploring new betting alternatives for customers who still wish to gamble. Circa Sports is not only providing a variety of international games but also offering bettors a fresh option for wagering on their preferred US professional league.
Circa Sports NFL season win totals
Bennet reported early betting activity on Sunday for NFL season win totals, with two significant bets placed for the Arizona Cardinals to fall short of the season win total of seven. The next day, the Cardinals secured wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans. However, this trade did not affect the season win total for either team. The Cardinals’ season win total remains at seven (-110), while the Texans’ is still 8.5. The only change is the Texans’ moneyline, which shifted from -110 to -120.
The trade of Hopkins marked the start of player transitions ahead of the 2020 NFL season. Multiple trades happened on Monday, and teams were allowed to start signing free agents from Wednesday. Tom Brady made an announcement on Tuesday that he wouldn’t be returning to the Patriots.
Tom Brady shakes up the AFC East
Tom Brady’s departure from the Patriots had a minimal effect on their season win total, which decreased from 9 to 8.5 at Circa Sports. Interestingly, his leaving impacted all teams in the AFC East uniformly, with each team’s total moving by half a win.
- Patriots from 8.5 to 9.
- Buffalo Bills from 8 to 8.5
- New York Jets from 6 to 6.5
- Miami Dolphins from 6 to 6.5.
NFL season win totals changing
Speculation continues to circulate regarding Tom Brady’s future team. Bettors in New Jersey can even place bets on which team TB12 will play for next season. Currently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the favored team at the PointsBet sportsbook.
The season win totals at Circa saw minimal changes as NFL teams prepare to sign free agents. More teams saw changes in the vig than in the actual win totals. Given the circulating rumors and the dynamic nature of the betting market, these totals are expected to keep adjusting.
The enthusiasm amongst NFL bettors is hardly dampened by the coronavirus pandemic. A number of Circa Sports bettors are avoiding retail sportsbooks and choosing to gamble from a different location. Bennet informs PlayNevada that roughly 95% of the initial bets on season win totals were placed through mobile devices.
Circa Sports is urging Nevada bettors, regardless of their bet size, to utilize mobile devices for placing wagers. Distinct from many Nevada sportsbooks, Circa Sports allows a maximum bet of $2,000 for win totals, whether placed in person or via mobile. This bookmaker frequently sets comparable limits for both mobile and over-the-counter bettors.
The majority, if not all, of Nevada’s sportsbook operators impose a restriction on high limit sports bettors, requiring them to physically enter the casino to place high limit bets. This is not an appropriate time to discourage sports bettors who are willing to spend money. Boosting sports betting activity is beneficial for the sportsbook operator. Meanwhile, enabling bettors to remain isolated during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is in the best interest of the customer’s health.
