The 2022 NFL season has officially kicked off! The first NFL team to have players report to training camp this season was the Las Vegas Raiders.
The team is set to face the New England Patriots in their last preseason game. They will start the regular season against the Chargers in Los Angeles on Sept. 11.
The odds for the inaugural game of the regular season have undergone minor changes since their May release. Las Vegas now stands as a +3.5 point underdog, a slight change from their previous position as a +4 point underdog.
The game’s over/under total has decreased to 51.5 from 53.5 in May.
NFL player awards odds
The Raiders predominantly consist of experienced players, including a few exceptionally skilled ones. Futures betting odds for NFL awards indicate how the Raiders’ veterans and rookies compare to other players in the league.
Several states that have legalized sports betting provide an extensive range of futures and prop bets on individual players. However, Nevada sportsbooks maintain a basic approach. Only a limited number of awards betting options are available at certain sportsbooks.
Even fewer exist with season-long player prop bets.
MVP
The MVP award is typically won by quarterbacks. The top 14 players with the highest probabilities of winning this award are also quarterbacks.
Derek Carr of the Raiders and Jalen Hurts from the Philadelphia Eagles are neck and neck with 13/14 odds to win the award.
The inclination of this award towards quarterbacks is well exemplified by Devante Adams. This newly acquired wide receiver is regarded as the best in his position in the NFL.
Even though Adams is skilled at his position, his chances of winning MVP are less than average quarterbacks such as Daniel Jones from the New York Giants, Ryan Tannehill from the Tennessee Titans, and even Zach Wilson from the New York Jets.
These are the MVP odds for the Raiders:
Derek Carr has odds of 25-1. Devante Adams has odds of 100-1. Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller both have odds of 500-1.
Offensive Player Of The Year
The odds for the AP Offensive Player Of The Year tend to favor skill position players. This award, as its name implies, is given to the year’s best player.
Adams from the Raiders unsurprisingly has the best odds of winning this award at BetMGM. He is ranked fifth overall for the Offensive Player Of The Year odds. The current favorite to win this award is Jonathan Taylor from the Indianapolis Colts, with odds of 9-1.
These are the odds for the Raiders players to win the Offensive Player of the Year award.
Devante Adams has odds of 20-1, Derek Carr has odds of 80-1, and Josh Jacobs has odds of 125-1.
Offensive Rookie Of The Year
The Raiders swapped their first and second-round draft picks this year in exchange for Adams. Awards for offensive players are usually bestowed upon those in skill positions like quarterback and running back.
The Raiders’ first draft pick was guard Dylan Parham in the third round, as a result, the team lacks a player with short odds to win the offensive rookie of the year.
Zamir White, a fourth-round pick, is the sole Raiders player vying for the Offensive Rookie Of The Year award. His chances of winning, according to BetMGM, stand at 50-1.
Defensive Rookie Of The Year
Neil Farrell, a defensive tackle, was the highest drafted defensive player for the Raiders. However, as the Raiders’ second pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, he did not make the Defensive Rookie Of The Year odds at BetMGM.
