A Megabucks jackpot exceeding $10 million was won at a Las Vegas-area casino for the second time in just over a month.
Roger, a retiree from Henderson, Nevada, won a Megabucks jackpot of $10,192,523.88 playing slots at Fiesta Henderson on Saturday, September 16, 2017. This marks the second time in 2017 that IGT’s Megabucks jackpot has been won.
On August 8, 2017, Rodolfo T. from Southern California won an $11.8 million Megabucks jackpot at the Fremont Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas.
The Megabucks jackpot restarts at $10 million.
Furthermore, in 2016, the jackpot was struck twice by players. Efren Aguirre, a 64-year-old gold miner from Northern Nevada, won a $12.5 million Megabucks Nevada jackpot at the Gold Dust West Casino in Elko in March. Later in August, a resident of Oahu, Hawaii hit a $10.7 million jackpot on the IGT Megabucks Wynn Wheel slot machine at Wynn Las Vegas.
$39.7 million remains largest Megabucks jackpot ever
Nonetheless, the biggest Megabucks jackpot that still stands is the $39.7 million prize won in 2003 at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Roger informed a reporter from the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he had moved to Henderson from Palm Beach, Florida, just a few months ago. Since relocating, he has rapidly established himself as a frequent slots player at Fiesta Henderson.
“He informed the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he would likely use the majority of it on alcohol, women, and gambling, while the remainder would be squandered.”
Roger asserted that he was unaware of his winnings until informed by an attendant. He also stated his intention to maintain a low profile about his victory to evade unnecessary attention.
