Last week, a slot player from Southern California won an $11.8 million Megabucks jackpot at the Fremont Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, around 6:30 p.m., Rodolfo T. hit the enormous jackpot after placing a $3 max-bet on the International Game Technology Megabucks 3X4X5X Double Times Pay slot machine.

The man from California agreed to take a photo with Fremont Vice President and General Manager, Jim Sullivan, and Slot Director, Salinda Conklin. However, he chose to only disclose the region he lived in, his first name, and his last initial.

Fremont’s biggest jackpot ever

Sullivan stated in a press release:

“The Fremont has a 60-year history in Las Vegas during which it has awarded numerous jackpots. However, none compare to the recent one. We are thrilled to contribute to this extraordinary jackpot, further enhancing Fremont’s established reputation as a location where players prosper.”

For the first time in 2017, IGT’s Megabucks Nevada jackpot was hit. However, it had been hit twice the previous year in 2016.

In August 2016, a resident of Oahu, Hawaii won a $10.7 million jackpot from the IGT Megabucks Wynn Wheel slot machine at Wynn Las Vegas. The jackpot was triggered by a maximum bet of $3 on the penny slot machine specifically designed for Wynn Las Vegas.

In March 2016, the Megabucks Nevada jackpot was won by Efren Aguirre, a 64-year-old gold miner from Northern Nevada.

Aguirre won a jackpot of $12.5 million at the Gold Dust West Casino in Elko, NV.

In 2003, the largest Megabucks jackpot, amounting to $39.7 million, was won at the Excalibur in Las Vegas.
