An additional 15 poker players have been included in the participant list for the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl with a $300,000 buy-in, prior to this summer’s World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Due to unprecedented player interest and only 48 spots available, the first 30 players invited to compete in the fourth annual event were determined through a lottery.

Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth, renowned poker superstars, were among the fortunate 30 whose names were drawn from the hat. They were accompanied by high roller regulars Isaac Haxton and Justin Bonomo, as well as Brian Rast, the first-ever champion of the $500,000 Super High Roller Bowl.

Aria’s Super High Roller Bowl selections

After the lottery, there were 18 seats left available. This week, Aria Resort & Casino, the host venue and an MGM property, chose 15 players to occupy most of these seats.

This latest list includes some high profile names, such as Rainer Kempe, the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl champion, and Fedor Holz, the runner-up.

Doug Polk, possibly the most recognizable figure, has built a poker content empire on YouTube in the past few years and is now nearing 200,000 subscribers.

Polk emerged victorious on the felt, winning $3,686,865 at the $111,111 No Limit Hold’em High Roller for One Drop at the 2017 WSOP. This was the biggest buy-in event at the 2017 WSOP, only surpassed by the Super High Roller Bowl in Las Vegas the previous summer.

Billionaire gas trader, Bill Perkins, and former professional poker player and TV star, Antanas “Tony G” Guoga, who is now a member of the European Parliament, have been added to the list of amateurs.

Poker Central and Aria, the organizers, state that two additional seats will be reserved for VIP players and filled at a later date.

Super High Roller Bowl satellite series

The Super High Roller Bowl satellite winner will receive the final spot.

Aria is organizing a Super Satellite Series in the days leading up to the start of the Super High Roller Bowl.

The series kicks off with a $500+$50 satellite on May 24 at 4 p.m. local time. For every 20 entries, one seat will be granted into a $10,000 Super High Roller Bowl Qualifier.

The qualifier for the $10,000 Super High Roller Bowl will take place at 4 p.m. on May 25, offering one seat to the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl, provided that it attracts 30 entries. Similar to the Super High Roller Bowl, the qualifier charges no rake for anyone who signs up by noon. Those who register after this time will be required to pay a $500 fee.

Super High Roller Bowl starts May 27

The Super High Roller Bowl is scheduled to take place at the Aria from May 27-30. PokerGO, a poker content subscription service, will host a livestream of the event. Additionally, the event will be aired at a later time on NBC Sports Network, NBCSports.com, and the NBCSports app.

Sam Simmons, Vice President of Content at Poker Central, has welcomed everyone who has joined the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl roster so far, as stated in a press release.

We warmly welcome the 15 VIPs to the field of the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl, who are some of the most distinguished figures in high stakes tournament poker. Combined with the 30 chosen at the annual Super High Roller Bowl lottery, these names guarantee the most star-studded tournament field of the year.
