MGM Resorts offers tier accelerators

There are three methods by which customers can accrue additional MGM Rewards points, elevate their status, and earn tier credits at MGM Resorts. However, these promotions are available only for a restricted period.

The new Daily Tier Rewards Accelerator promotion by MGM Rewards will enable members to attain a higher status more swiftly at their Nevada-based casinos. The MGM Rewards Mastercard instantly upgrades the tier status of a new member and provides reward point promotions for differing purchases. In addition, MGM Rewards has introduced a new Tier Match program for 2025.

These promotions are designed to assist players in ascending to elevated levels within the MGM Rewards system. Each successive tier of the casino rewards program provides added perks, including free parking, waived resort fees, priority access at dining venues and hotel check-in, among other benefits.

Additionally, the credit card enables MGM guests to accumulate points for use at casinos nationwide.

MGM Rewards Tier Accelerator

The daily promotion, MGM Rewards Tier Accelerator, is exclusively available at its Las Vegas casinos until July 31.

When guests earn specific amounts of Tier Credits during a promotional day at an MGM Rewards Las Vegas casino, they can qualify for one out of four bonus levels. Eligible spending, which can earn Tier Credits, includes:

  • Gambling
  • Rooms in a Hotel
  • Dining
  • Entertainment
  • Treatments at the spa

Guests accumulate four (4) Tier Credits for every dollar they spend on hotel accommodations, meals, spa treatments, salon services, and entertainment. However, the rate at which gamblers earn credits is not as clear.

This promotion allows players to accumulate Tier Credits from slot machines, video poker, and table games, depending on the duration of play, average bet, and type of game. However, sports bets made at BetMGM sportsbooks or through mobile betting apps are not eligible for this promotion.

This promotional offer is specifically designed for tourists visiting Las Vegas. To qualify for the MGM Rewards Tier Accelerator, guests are required to present their physical or digital MGM Rewards card with every eligible purchase or while gambling at any MGM Rewards property in Las Vegas. Alternatively, guests can also charge to their hotel folio that is connected to their MGM Rewards card.

Accelerator Milestones

Guests have four distinct MGM Rewards Tier Accelerator levels to choose from:

  • Milestone #1 for Accelerator: Gain 5,000 Tier Credits and be rewarded with an extra 1,250 Bonus Tier Credits.
  • Reach the second milestone of the Accelerator program by earning 10,000 Tier Credits, and you will be rewarded with an additional 5,000 Bonus Tier Credits.
  • Milestone #3 for Accelerator: Receive 20,000 Bonus Tier Credits upon earning 20,000 Tier Credits.
  • Milestone #4 of the Accelerator: Obtain 60,000 Bonus Tier Credits by earning 40,000 Tier Credits.

If guests achieve the milestone in two consecutive days, those who reach Accelerators 3 and 4 will attain gold and platinum status, respectively.

Every promotional day starts at 6:00 am (PT) and concludes at 5:59 am (PT) the following day. This promotion happens daily and the Tier Credits accumulated do not carry forward to the next day.

Spend Requirement

While promotions are appealing, reaching Accelerator Milestone #1 requires a minimum daily cash expenditure of $1,250. It’s difficult to predict the exact gambling spend needed, as the details are not dependent on a specific money amount. Achieving other milestones necessitating more Tier Credits will demand even higher spending.

MGM Rewards Credit Card

The MGM Rewards Mastercard isn’t a new offering. However, a promotion is currently available for new registrants.

New cardholders, for the first time, can now earn Tier Credits until March 31. This closely mirrors the Accelerator promotion, enabling MGM Rewards members to rapidly attain a higher Tier Status.

New cardholders can qualify to receive 20,000 Tier Credits and 20,000 Points. To meet this eligibility, they must spend a total of $1,500 within the first three billing cycles after opening the account.

The MGM Rewards Mastercard does not carry an annual fee. While it functions similarly to other branded credit cards, it is linked to the MGM Rewards program.

Every cardholder is instantly upgraded to MGM Rewards Pearl status, which comes with the benefit of free self-parking. Here are additional MGM Rewards benefits that all cardholders can enjoy:

  • For every $1 spent at MGM Rewards properties in the US, you will earn triple points and tier credits.
  • For every $1 spent on gas and supermarket purchases, receive double the points and tier credits.
  • For every $1 spent anywhere, including on BetMGM Deposits, you earn 1X Points and Tier Credits.

More information, rules, and terms can be found here.

MGM Rewards Tier Match

The Tier Match promotion by MGM Rewards is valid until June 30. Guests can avail of this by bringing a higher-tier rewards card from a different program to an MGM Rewards counter and ask for a Tier Match. This will elevate their MGM Rewards Tier to match the higher tier from the other program. The entire procedure is quick and should only take a few minutes.

This recurring promotion permits guests to immediately upgrade to Pearl, Gold, or Platinum status with MGM Rewards. The matches this year might vary from previous Tier Match promotions.

Here are a few examples of Las Vegas rewards programs that will be Tier Matched by MGM Rewards.

Rewards of Caesar

Diamond members will progress to Pearl in MGM Rewards. Diamond Plus members will move up to Gold in MGM Rewards. Both Diamond Elite and Seven Stars members will upgrade to Platinum in MGM Rewards.

Club Grazi in Venice

Grazie Elite will progress to MGM Rewards Pearl, while Paiza Gold will upgrade to MGM Rewards Gold.

MGM Rewards will match tiers with rewards programs available nationwide. Click here to see a list of all programs that are eligible for an MGM Rewards Tier Match.
