Resorts World Las Vegas, a casino on the Vegas Strip, has started charging some guests a $10 self-parking fee, joining other casinos that have implemented paid self-parking.
Resorts World’s Genting Rewards program distinguishes itself from other Vegas casinos by offering free parking to all its members. In contrast, other casinos on the Strip only provide complimentary paid parking to their higher-tier rewards members.
Here, you can register for Genting Rewards. By scanning their Genting Rewards card or using the Resorts World app, guests are eligible for free self-parking.
Furthermore, Resorts World does not impose an additional fee during events held on or near its property. The company conveyed this information in a statement:
Non-members of Genting Rewards can gain instant access to free parking and other perks by enrolling in the loyalty appreciation and recognition program on-site or via the Resorts World Genting mobile app on their smartphones. Members are entitled to complimentary self-parking, irrespective of the day or any special event.
The decision to alter isn’t particularly surprising. Parking payment kiosks were already in place outside the garages when Resorts World launched in 2021. However, the company chose not to impose a parking fee as visitor numbers were reduced due to the pandemic.
Resorts World, this year, aligns itself with most Vegas Strip casinos, charging a fee for self-parking. Since shortly after its opening, non-hotel guests have been charged $25 per day for valet parking.
Vegas Strip parking fees
Unlike other Vegas Strip casinos like Caesars and MGM Resorts that charge parking fees based on the duration of a guest’s stay, Resorts World offers a flat self-parking fee of $10.
The cost for a full day of parking at Resorts World is nearly less than half of what the largest casinos on the Vegas Strip charge.
Self-parking fees at Caesars begin at $15 for a visit lasting 1-3 hours. However, complimentary parking is offered to Caesars Rewards members who achieve Platinum status or above.
Visitors and hotel guests are charged an all-day parking fee of $18. The cost of valet services, however, differs depending on the property and the day. It’s typically more expensive on weekends, holidays, and during events compared to weekdays.
Self-parking at MGM Resorts costs $15 for one to four hours. If you park for four hours or more, the fee is $18.
Self-parking is complimentary for MGM Rewards members who achieve the Pearl tier or above.
Depending on the property and day, the valet fee at an MGM Resorts property can range from $18 to $35.
Residents of Nevada are entitled to three hours of parking at no cost with a valid ID issued by the state.
Free self-parking on the Vegas Strip
Most properties on the Vegas Strip are held by Caesars and MGM Resorts. Interestingly, there are a few casinos on the Vegas Strip that offer free self-parking. These casinos, coincidentally, are all located on the north end of the strip, close to Resorts World. The casinos that provide free self-parking include:
- Sahara
- Wynn (and Encore)
- The Venetian (and Palazzo)
- Treasure Island
- The Strat
- Circus Circus
Only The Strat and Treasure Island, from the properties listed above, do not charge for valet services.
