The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) has teamed up with South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa to host 48 of the world’s leading professional bull riders from June 5 to 28. The PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge will occur without fans present. CBS Sports Network will televise this PBR event every Friday and Saturday. Additionally, a “Game of the Week” will be broadcasted on CBS television network every Sunday.

The South Point has become the first casino operator in Nevada to announce that it will be hosting an entertainment event. This concept isn’t exclusive to the South Point though. Nevertheless, they are the pioneering casino to declare that they’ll conduct a sporting event without any audience.

Las Vegas Venues As Stages For TV Shows

During the first quarter earnings call of MGM Resorts, the acting CEO Bill Hornbuckle mentioned that the company is in search of events to host at its Las Vegas casinos.

It was subsequently disclosed that an alleged MGM Plan was proposed to the NBA, NHL, and MLS. The plan suggests that teams, families, broadcasters, and staff for all involved should be hosted at MGM Resorts properties, namely Mandalay Bay and Luxor for the NBA plan. The international casino operator would accommodate whatever type of season the leagues provide to their TV partners.

The idea of creating an insulated “bubble city” for various sports leagues was original for a moment. Today, however, numerous cities across the nation are vying to host a range of sports events. The Ringer reports that Las Vegas remains a contender to host the NBA.

The Cowboy Casino Hosting Cowboys

The South Point, frequently referred to as the Cowboy Casino, hosts numerous events and entertainment tailored for cowboys. In addition to being a casino-hotel, it houses the South Point Equestrian Center, one of the country’s top indoor horse facilities.

The PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge, featuring the 48 best bull riders, will be held at the South Point Arena from June 5-28. Many of the world’s leading professional bull riders will be participating in the event. The riders will be divided into 12 teams and divisions, competing against each other until only two teams are left to vie for the championship.

Each competition night will showcase three “games.” Each game will involve a direct contest between three riders from one team and three riders from another, battling it out on the sport’s most challenging bulls. These nightly games will pave the way for the live broadcasts from South Point during the weekends.

CBS Sports Network will broadcast the competitions every Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, the South Point will shortly publish the event odds on its sports betting app.

The South Point will implement PBR safety measures that were first introduced during three earlier bull riding event weekends. These events will feature a reduced crew, medical testing, practical separation, and all attendees will adhere to social distancing.

“South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa is thrilled to collaborate with PBR in showcasing the world’s top bull riders at the South Point Arena. Vegas Cowboy Central is the perfect venue to restore the sports and entertainment capital to television. Regardless of whether you can be here or not, Las Vegas is committed to providing entertainment,” stated Ryan Growney, General Manager of South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa.
