Station Casinos is persistently planning for the company’s future. Even though it already has two casinos being constructed in Nevada, the company is also moving forward with plans to establish a casino in Henderson.

The Henderson City Council approved the sale of 3.76 acres of land to Station Casinos last week. This will add to the 45 acres of land that Station Casinos already possesses in this area.

Currently, the company has plans to construct a casino in West Henderson, specifically in the Inspirada area, which is approximately 20 minutes away from the heart of the Vegas Strip.

Station Casinos owns two categories of properties in Las Vegas – those with full services and those that are solely casinos. Durango Resort will fall into the full-service category once it’s fully built. Conversely, the Wildfire in downtown Las Vegas will be a casino-only property, not offering hotel services. The proposed Inspirada design is more similar to Durango Resort than Wildfire.

Station Casinos Inspirada plans

Station Casinos’ preliminary plans reveal that Inspirada will be a comprehensive hotel and casino. They intend to construct a 600-room hotel on the property.

Plans are in place to establish an 80,000-square-foot casino floor at Inspirada, equivalent in size to Palace Station and Flamingo, but smaller than Planet Hollywood. The project also features plans for four separate restaurants and a food hall offering 11 dining choices.

Inspirada, like many other Station Casinos properties, will also feature a movie theater and bowling alley.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Scott Kreeger, president of Red Rock Resorts (the parent company of Station Casinos), suggested that their new property would be a luxury one, comparable to Red Rock Casino in Summerlin and Green Valley Ranch located in another area of Henderson.

Furthermore, the meeting space of 30,000 square feet could appeal to businesses.

According to 8 New Now, Station Casinos plans to commence construction in January 2025 with the aim to open the casino by March 2025.

Path forward for Station Casinos

Since reopening post the pandemic peak, Station Casinos has been charting a fresh course. The firm divested some of its less lucrative properties after casinos got the green light to reopen in 2020.

Station Casinos made the decision to sell Palms and demolish three other casinos, namely Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, and Fiesta Henderson, due to their minimal contribution to the bottom line. The Fiesta Henderson plot was recently sold by Station Casinos to the City of Henderson, and the three casinos are no longer in existence.

Currently, there are six fully operational Station Casinos properties.

  • Boulder Station
  • Palace Station
  • Green Valley Ranch
  • Red Rock Casino
  • Santa Fe Station
  • Sunset Station

Additionally, there are 10 Wildfire casino-only properties scattered around Las Vegas.

Station Casinos is aiming to expand its Las Vegas presence by doubling its portfolio. The company has begun construction on Durango Resort in southwest Las Vegas and a new Wildfire Casino in downtown Las Vegas this year.

Station Casinos owns usable land all over the Las Vegas valley. Earlier in the year, the firm shut down the Wild Wild West casino located just to the west of the Vegas Strip.

The company also acquired additional land south of the Vegas Strip on Las Vegas Blvd. Earlier this year, Kreeger stated that they were excited about constructing a new property in North Las Vegas.

The long-term strategy for reconstructing the Station Casinos portfolio involves building one property at a time. Currently, Durango Resort is under construction and is expected to open late next year, adhering to the company’s schedule.

Should the company adhere to the proposed timeline, construction of the subsequent casino is set to commence in early 2025. The new casino resort in Inspirada seems to have jumped to the forefront of the priority list.
