Just weeks after its acquisition by Nevada’s largest tavern gaming company, the iconic Stratosphere is transitioning into a Best Western.
Golden Gaming is the umbrella company for PT’s Entertainment Group, which operates 56 gaming taverns throughout Nevada. This operation encompasses numerous gaming taverns in the Las Vegas area that are under the brand names of PT’s Pub and PT’s Gold.
In June, the company acquired American Casino and Entertainment Properties. This transaction resulted in the addition of four Nevada casinos to the company’s holdings. These included the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower located on the Las Vegas Strip, and the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada.
Stratosphere, Aquarius added to BW Premier Collection
Last week, it was announced by Best Western Hotels & Resorts that the Stratosphere and Aquarius locations will be joining the company’s BW Premier Collection brand.
“Today is an exhilarating day for Best Western Hotels & Resorts. We are excited to announce that we will now provide two new exciting travel destinations for our valued guests,” said Ron Pohl, VP and COO of Best Western Hotels & Resorts, in a statement.
These hotels cater to all your desires, be it thrilling sights, gaming facilities, world-class dining and entertainment, or just an exceptional stay. Further enhancing your experience, our partnership with these landmark properties enables you to leverage the benefits of our renowned Best Western Rewards loyalty program, one of the most rewarding in the industry, during your visit.
American Casino and Entertainment pleased
Frank Riolo, CEO of American Casino and Entertainment Properties, also voiced his satisfaction with the deal. He was especially pleased that the properties managed to secure the backing of a larger hotel brand without sacrificing their unique identities.
Our search for the right soft brand partner led us straight to Best Western Hotels & Resorts. Their commitment to providing excellent travel experiences at great value aligns perfectly with ours. We are also excited to benefit from their unparalleled brand support, online platforms, and loyalty program. Meanwhile, our properties in Las Vegas and Laughlin will retain their iconic identities.
The iconic Stratosphere hotel, casino, and tower
Opened in 1996, the Stratosphere stands tall at 1,149 feet as the highest building in Las Vegas. With an impressive 2,427 guest rooms and suites, it also boasts an observation deck offering panoramic views of the entire Las Vegas Valley. The Stratosphere grounds include a 24-hour casino and a recently renovated race and sportsbook. Additionally, the tower’s top features several thrill rides.
The Aquarius Casino Resort, located in Laughlin, Nevada, is the town’s largest gaming resort. It boasts a 57,000-square-foot casino and offers 1,906 rooms and suites.
Big deal for Best Western
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Best Western Hotels & Resorts operates a network of 4,200 hotels located in over 100 countries and territories across the globe.
The agreement to incorporate the Stratosphere and Aquarius hotels into Best Western’s portfolio, adding approximately 4,500 rooms, is the largest deal in the company’s over 70-year history.
