For the second consecutive year, The Match, Turner Sports’ next installment, is returning to Wynn Las Vegas.
The Match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. PT on June 1, taking place at the Wynn Golf Club.
The 12-hole golf event will once again air exclusively on TNT.
For the first time, the TV event, The Match, will not include any professional golfers in its 2022 edition. Instead, it will feature a foursome of some of the top NFL quarterbacks currently in the league.
The game will see veteran quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers face off against young talents Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
Rodgers had a victory last summer when he partnered with Bryson Dechambeau. Together, they beat Brady and Phil Mickelson 3 and 2.
As previously mentioned, the veteran players, Brady and Rodgers, have both taken part in The Match before. However, this will be the first time Mahomes and Allen will be participating in The Match.
Betting On The Match
The Match is a one-of-a-kind golf event designed specifically for television. To maintain a steady pace of action, only 12 out of the 18 holes at the Wynn Golf Club will be played in The Match.
Viewers have amazing access to the players, unlike traditional golf events on TV.
Throughout the entire competition, all four players will have open mics.
The program will feature participants directly interacting with their rivals and the broadcast commentators. Turner Sports will disclose the specifics about the broadcast team nearer to the event date.
The Match’s early betting odds on the Wynn Sports NV app currently lean towards the more experienced team. Similar to other national sportsbooks, the odds on the Wynn Sports NV app may differ from those in other states using the WynnBet app.
This is also the case for other sports betting apps in Nevada.
At present, Brady and Rodgers are -200 favorites, while Mahomes and Allen are underdogs at +170. There has already been a slight shift in the odds.
Wynn Golf Club
Last year, for the first time, The Match was hosted by Wynn Golf Club. Brooks Koepka emerged victorious, defeating Bryson DeChambeau, Rodgers’ former partner, with a 5-and-3 score.
The Match is simply one of numerous sports events that have driven Las Vegas into being one of the top sports cities in the US. Despite being a contest for television, it serves as an excellent promotion for one of the few golf courses situated on the Vegas Strip.
Once upon a time, the Wynn Las Vegas golf course was on the verge of being eliminated. However, in 2017, the construction of Wynn Paradise Park was given the green light.
The plan to add a lagoon to the luxury resort was canceled while the demolition of the golf course was already in progress.
After a redesign by Tom Fazio, the Wynn Golf Club reopened in late 2019. The course, now situated on 129 acres of land at Wynn Las Vegas, features a new layout with eight new holes and ten revamped ones.
This course is a par 70, featuring three par 3s and two par 5s on each nine. The total yardage varies between 4,810 and 6,722 yards, contingent on the use of one of the four tees.
Next to the first tee, there is a netted area for full swing warm-ups and a 6,500-square-foot practice putting green to prepare for the links.
The Wynn Las Vegas golf course, one of the most expensive public golf courses in the US, is typically accessible to the public, but it comes with a steep price.
The cost of green fees is $600, which includes the use of Calloway loaner clubs for those who require them.
Wynn Rewards members at the Black tier are entitled to a free round of golf for two at the Wynn Golf Club.
Being a top-tier member of the Wynn Resorts rewards program gives you a value of $1,200. You can earn points not only in Las Vegas but also at Encore Boston Harbor on the east coast.
