[toc]Poker fans will soon be treated to a live look in on the action from one of Las Vegas’ most iconic poker rooms. In fact, the Bellagio Poker Room announced late last week through its Twitter account that it will soon be live streaming the action from a selection of its mid to high-stakes games on a newly created Twitch Channel.
The channel is dubbed BellagioPOTS. The POTS in BellagioPOTS is an acronym for Poker On The Strip.
According to the Bellagio Poker Room Twitter account, the Twitch Stream will go live with coverage of the room’s $2-$5-$10 $500-$2,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em game beginning April 26 at 7 p.m. local time in Las Vegas.
Live streaming every week in May
The Bellagio plans similar Twitch broadcasts for May 3, May 10, and May 17.
Plus, the schedule includes plans to stream a $10-$20 $800-$5,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em game on May 24 at 7 p.m. and perhaps even bigger action if it’s around the room at the time.
After that, the BellagioPOTS Twitch Stream plans to take a break for the 2017 World Series of Poker and return after the summer.
Bellagio promises more details will be released via the @BellagioPoker Twitter account over the next few weeks. Also, anyone seeking further information is asked to contact the Bellagio Poker Room via email at [email protected].
Bellagio: Las Vegas’ premier poker destination
The Bellagio Poker Room has long hailed itself as Las Vegas’ premier poker destination.
In fact, the room itself features 37 poker tables and regularly plays host to a number of World Poker Tour events. This includes the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic.
The Bellagio Poker Room is also home to the world famous Bobby’s Room. The room is named for professional poker player, casino executive and 1978 WSOP Main Event winner Bobby Baldwin. In fact, Bobby’s Room regularly plays host to some of the world’s biggest cash games.
Mixed games are played with limits as high as $4,000/$8,000 and some of the boldest names in poker have been known to frequent the room. This includes Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu.
Plus, Chip Reese was a regular at the Big Game inside Bobby’s room until he passed away in 2007.
Poker is growing on Twitch
Twitch is a live streaming platform for gamers that garners more than 100 million views every month. In fact, poker is a growing segment on the site, led by Team PokerStars Pro Jason Somerville.
In 2016, Somerville became the first poker streamer to hit the 10-million-view mark. His Run it Up! live stream remains the most popular poker Twitch stream. Somerville streams over 1,000 hours per year on the site.
The BellagioPOTS Twitch Stream will not be the first to feature live cash-game action from the floor of a casino in the United States. That honor goes to Live at the Bike, which streams regularly from the Bicycle Hotel & Casino floor in Bell Gardens, California.
