MGM Resorts launched its national sports betting brand in Nevada Friday. During a small gathering at Park MGM, the company unleashed BetMGM for the Silver State. This is the MGM Resorts’ new sports betting brand that comes from a partnership with Roar Digital – a  joint venture with GVC Holdings.

This launch is more than just a new name. Nevada residents and visitors have access to a new mobile sports betting app and upgraded casino experiences. In addition to the new BetMGM app, the company is also rebranding its sportsbooks and placing more than 100 gaming kiosks across MGM’s Las Vegas properties.

BetMGM Mobile App

The new BetMGM mobile wagering app is an upgrade from the previous PlayMGM app manufactured by IGT. The new app has a clean design and is easy to navigate. Most importantly the app works more smoothly than the previous version.

The biggest change with the BetMGM app is live betting. Previously, MGM only offered in-game odds that were changed during breaks in a game. The new app offers a much wider variety of live betting options including game prop bets.

The live bets change throughout the games with the BetMGM app. This offers more wagering opportunities for the user. Roar Digital CEO Adam Greenblatt told Sports Techie that one bettor recently placed 421 wagers in a single week. That’s a lot of action that might not have been possible with the old app.

BetMGM in Nevada will be different than other locations where MGM Resorts offers legal sports wagering. Odds for BetMGM in Nevada are produced from the odds team in Las Vegas. This won’t be much of a change for Nevada sports bettors but the information could be different than BetMGM sportsbooks around the country.

Sport betting promotions and boosts are a big part of branding BetMGM on twitter. Unfortunately, BetMGM will not be offering those promotions in Nevada right away. In time there should be some promotions as well as a focus on wagering on local teams like the Golden Knights and Raiders.

BetMGM Casino And Sportsbook Upgrades

In the coming weeks, rebranded BetMGM sportsbooks will debut at the following MGM Resorts Las Vegas casinos:

  • Aria
  • Bellagio
  • Excalibur
  • Luxor
  • Mandalay Bay
  • MGM Grand
  • The Mirage
  • New York-New York

Park MGM is the first MGM Resorts sportsbook to see a change. MGM Resorts actually started making changes last year with some minor renovations to the Moneyline sportsbook. The upgrades include better lighting and more cocktail tables with barstools in the main sports bar and restaurant area. The Moneyline sportsbook is now the first BetMGM sportsbook in Las Vegas.

The expanded betting area in front of the sports bar and book has more space. The lines to place wagers should move quicker. Lines at all BetMGM sportsbooks in Las Vegas should move quicker. The rebrand is also bringing sports wagering kiosks to every property.

MGM Resorts is installing more than 100 sports betting kiosks to the eight casinos and sportsbooks. The self-serve betting stations should make lines to place wagers with a human shorter. They can also make placing wagers easier for new bettors that wager at home online and aren’t used to betting with people. Park MGM has kiosks outside of the sportsbook and outside of the Starbucks closer to the lobby and hotel rooms.

MGM Resorts will soon upgrade other sportsbooks. Expect to see changes to the sportsbooks Mandalay Bay and Luxor before the Las Vegas Raiders begin to play next season.

M Life Rewards Integration

BetMGM mobile accounts are connected to each player’s M Life Rewards membership. MGM Resorts will soon integrate BetMGM mobile wagers with M Life Rewards. In the next two or three months, bettors will receive M Life Rewards point for wagers.

M Life Rewards points can be used for rooms, meals, spa treatments and more at MGM Resorts Las Vegas properties and the following around the country:

  • Beau Rivage (Mississippi)
  • Borgata (New Jersey)
  • MGM Grand Detroit (Michigan)
  • Gold Strike Tunica (Mississippi)
  • MGM National Harbor (Maryland)
  • MGM Springfield (Massachusetts)

The upgrades to MGM Resorts sportsbooks are intended to provide a great sports betting experience for both locals and tourists. MGM Resorts casinos offer more than just sports betting. These casinos offer shows, restaurants, bars, clubs, and spas that other sportsbook operators across the US don’t have.

Linking M Life Rewards and BetMGM will offer sports bettors the option to use rewards to visit Las Vegas or the other MGM locations above. This is a unique benefit that not all legal US sportsbooks can offer.
