Everything You Need To Know About The Pennzoil 400

The NASCAR Cup Series rumbles just off the Las Vegas Strip this weekend with the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube Sunday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The flag drops and the crowd roads at 12:30 p.m. local time. FOX will broadcast the race. The weather forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and temperatures just above 60. So bring your voice and your sunscreen.

This is the third race of the NASCAR Cup Series of the season. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway also hosts the South Point 400 in October.

Race Weekend Details

The Pennzoil 400 caps the racing weekend in the desert. The action begins Thursday night with the Hauler Parade.

Ever seen a convoy of colorful 18-wheelers parade down the Las Vegas Strip? Now is your chance. The Hauler Parade starts rolling at 6 p.m. from The Luxor hotel down to the Speedway.

• Friday is the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200, part of the NASCAR Camping World Truck series. That race begins at 6 p.m.
• Saturday is the Alsco Uniforms 300 Xfinity Series race at 1:30 p.m.
• Then the grand finale, the 267-lap Pennzoil 400 on Sunday.

Where is the Speedway?

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is northeast of the center of Las Vegas, approximately 17 miles from the Strip. It’s off of Exit 54 (Speedway Blvd.). There are plenty of parking spots available.

But if you’d rather not get on the road, there are helicopter packages that will bring you to the track. It’s a 15-minute helicopter ride that will cost $500.

As of Tuesday, tickets for Friday’s race start at $20, Saturday’s race at $36 and for the Pennzoil 400, tickets start at $126.

How do I bring my RV?

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has multiple locations and options where you can park your RV and enjoy the entire weekend. RV lots opened on March 2 and close on March 7. Guests are encouraged to arrive before Thursday evening to beat the rush.

The Inner Circle RV Lot accommodates all kinds of recreational vehicles. There are also spaces available on the Hill RV Lot, a place where you can watch the race from a unique angle. For the high roller RV type, there’s the elite Trackside Vegas Veranda, which overlooks the raceway with the strip in the background.

Las Vegas brings the party

Race fans can get special passes to greet the races during introductions and get into the garage scene. Sunday, there is a pre-race concert by country music group Midland at approximately 11 a.m. Tiera Kennedy, host of Apple Music Country’s The Tiera Show will sing the national anthem.

What if I want to bet on the race?

Caesars has odds on the winner of the Pennzoil 400. The betting favorite is Kyle Larson at +350, with Chase Elliott second on the board at +700 and Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin both at +800.

If you want to throw some money on who wins the NASCAR Cup series, BetMGM lists Larson as the current favorite at +250. Currently Austin Cindric leads the NASCAR Cup Series standings after his win in the Daytona 500. Larson is in second place after his win the Auto Club 400.
