Las Vegas Casinos, Sahara And Tropicana Present New Players Clubs

2 casinos in Las Vegas introduce new players clubs

Shortly after finalizing an agreement to run the Tropicana, Bally’s Corp. (Bally’s) unveiled a new players club for the establishment. In a coincidental turn of events, Sahara, located on the opposite end of the Vegas Strip, disclosed information about its overhauled Infinity Rewards players club.

The new Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards is a replacement for the former Mychoice Rewards program from the property’s previous owners. The Infinity Rewards is merely a modernized version of the Sahara players club.

Tropicana will only equalize tiers for members of the casino’s past rewards program. On the other hand, Sahara will match the tier status of chosen rewards programs from different casino operators.

Although the Nevada casinos are situated at contrasting ends of the Vegas Strip, their rewards programs share a similarity—both are traditional casino players clubs.

Both of these programs reward gamblers exclusively for spending money on slots, other machine games, and table games. Contrary to many new rewards programs, neither of them provide benefits for guests who spend money on retail, shopping, or dining.

The primary distinction between the two players clubs lies in the speed at which guests can accumulate points for use within each casino.

Sahara Infinity Rewards

The Sahara and the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) in Reno, NV have a common owner and are linked through the Infinity Rewards program.

Playing at either Sahara or GSR allows players to earn points and enjoy more benefits through Infinity Rewards.

  • Board games
  • Slots
  • Poker video
  • Keno
  • Alternative machine games

Sahara has introduced a competitive tier match for its players club. The casino will equate a member’s tier level in the players club to their status in selected other casino loyalty programs.

Matching tier levels is a valid reason to observe how a new casino caters to its top-tier clients.

Infinity Rewards also offers additional benefits such as VIP parking, as well as dedicated priority lines at the hotel, restaurants, casino cage, and the Infinity Rewards desk.

Members will also get discounts on cabanas and daybeds at Azilo Ultra Pool, plus special deals and complimentary offers. They will also get invitations to exclusive events and other perks.

Earn Points Quickly

The primary advantage of the new program is that it allows players to accumulate points at a rate that is six times faster when they play slot machines. With each level up in the tier, players receive a slot point multiplier that progressively increases as they attain higher statuses.

At Sahara, players will accumulate one tier credit and one slot point for each dollar expended. Those playing video poker and keno will receive one point for every $2 they play.

Just like other casino rewards programs, the rating of table game players is determined by the type of game, duration of play, and bet size.

Sahara boasts one of the highest earnings rates in Las Vegas.

To compare, Station Casinos provide comparable earning rates. Wynn is situated a short distance down the Vegas Strip. The casino permits players to accumulate one point for every $5 spent on slot play. Depending on the game, video poker play requires either $10 or $20 to earn a point.

Earning 1,000 slot points is equivalent to $1 in comps or free play that can be used for food and beverages at either of the casinos.

Infinity Rewards Tier Benefits

When gambling, the rate of earning tier credits is identical to that of slot points. Infinity Rewards offers six different tier levels, each with unique benefits:

  • Everyone, please select.
  • Tier Credits: 1,000 (Premier)
  • Tier Credits for Elite: 7,500
  • Tier Credits: 50,000 Legend
  • Tier Credits: 200,000 – Iconic
  • Exclusive Invitation: Infinite

The Select and Premier tier levels provide comparable benefits. However, the Premier tier stands out for its 2x point multiplier, which is the primary distinction.

Players begin to experience the strength of the tier benefits once they attain the Legend level. From this tier upward, they are rewarded with free resort fees. This translates to a nightly savings of $39.95 for every hotel stay by the player.

The advantages of the hotel do not stop at free resort fees. Those with Legend status and above also get free room upgrades if available. These guests also enjoy the privilege of early check-in and check-out, as well as a 4x slot point bonus.

As expected, the exclusive Infinite level offers the most superior tier benefits. Players at this level are granted a free suite upgrade for all stays at Sahara.

Infinite members enjoy all the benefits of other tier levels and additionally receive VIP car service and a complimentary Cabana or Daybed at the Azul pool.

Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards

The acquisition of Tropicana by Bally’s was finalized in the latter part of September. Shortly thereafter, the casino introduced a new players club titled Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards.

It’s worth mentioning that the Tropicana in Las Vegas is independent and not linked to any other Tropicana casinos. In the same vein, Bally’s, the owner of Tropicana, has no association with Bally’s Las Vegas. All these entities operate separate rewards programs, none of which are related to Bally’s Corp. or Tropicana Las Vegas.

This is a casino players club, akin to Sahara’s Infinity Rewards. However, at Tropicana, guests accumulate points strictly through gambling. Points are not awarded for dining, drinking, or lodging at Tropicana.

The Mychoice rewards program from Penn Entertainment has been replaced by Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards. Tropicana no longer accepts Mychoice. Any remaining points from the Mychoice program can be used by members at the M Resort in Henderson, NV.

Members of the former club will have their status aligned with the new rewards program. However, all rewards from Tropicana Las Vegas will begin at zero points.

Different From Bally Rewards

This seems to be an interim players club as Bally’s integrates Tropicana into its nationwide rewards program. The national program, known as Bally Rewards, is presently accessible at the company’s Lake Tahoe property.

The complete integration of Tropicana with Bally’s is expected to take around a year. To put this in context, earlier this year, MGM Resorts finalized its deal to operate The Cosmopolitan.

Only within the new sportsbook can guests at The Cosmopolitan earn MGM Rewards points. The remainder of the property will not be part of the MGM Rewards scheme until the following year.

Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards Tier Levels

Due to the late completion of the Tropicana purchase deal, the property will prolong players’ tier levels beyond this year. Players who qualify for a higher-tier will maintain their status for this year and the subsequent qualifying period.

The period to qualify for tier status lasts until December 31, 2025. This provides players with additional time to reach a higher status. It is anticipated that this will change after the upcoming year.

The rewards program of Tropicana Las Vegas is different in structure from Bally Rewards, having five tier levels in comparison to Bally’s four.

  • Beginner: Everyone
  • Professional: 1,000 to 17,999 points
  • Points for Star: 18,000 to 49,999
  • Points for Superstar: Between 50,000 and 199,999.
  • Rewritten: If your score is 200,000 points or higher, you’re considered a legend.

When gambling at Tropicana, players accumulate tier points at these rates:

  • For every $5 of Coin-In on slot machines, you earn one (1) tier point.
  • For every $10 of Coin-In in Video Poker, you earn one (1) tier point.
  • For every $40 of Coin-In, you earn one (1) tier point on Electronic Table Games.
  • Table Games – categorized by game type, duration of play, and average wager.

Currently, no points are available from horse racing and sports betting as William Hill runs the race and sports book.

While Tropicana explicitly outlines how to accumulate tier points, the company does not provide the same clarity for earning comp points for casino use.

Players accumulate comp points in table and machine games, which are determined by the type of game, denomination, and duration of play. Determining the exact allocation of comp points may require players to do some reverse calculation, which can take some time.

Tier Benefits

The Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards is a loyalty program specific to a single casino in Las Vegas. Most of the tier benefits are predominantly tied to the property.

The tier level anyone can receive free travel to a Bally’s property outside Las Vegas depends on their gambling amount. Bally’s casinos are situated as near as Lake Tahoe and as distant as Atlantic City, NJ.

Every member gets free self-parking at Tropicana. The Rookie, Pro, and Star tier levels largely provide the same perks. Parking charges commence at $5 and can increase during local events.

The additional perks for both Pro and Star levels are minimal. Members from these tiers will get invitations to exclusive events. Those at the Star level also get priority seating in the restaurants.

Players begin to unlock more substantial benefits at the Superstar level, which requires 50,000 tier points. This level provides complimentary resort fees, a value of $37 per night for guests staying at the Tropicana.

Members who reach this level or higher are also granted two complimentary tickets to shows at Tropicana and a host of VIP access privileges. Those who achieve Legend status will get two extra tickets, as well as priority entry to shows.

Top-tier Legend members can enjoy some highlights such as:

  • Limo transfers to and from the airport are complimentary.
  • A yearly celebratory feast
  • Yearly birthday dinner
  • Early check-in/late check-out offered at no extra charge
  • A complimentary room guaranteed with 48-hour notice.

The new Tropicana casino players club is set to define the expectations of guests from the new owners. Get more information about the ongoing Tropicana Las Vegas Rewards program here.
