Any trip to Vegas is memorable, but a holiday trip to Las Vegas for New Year’s Eve? That’s the stuff of legends!
Finding the right New Year’s Eve party to attend has as much to do with your experience goals as with the venues’ offerings. Accordingly, the following list of top Vegas NYE parties includes a little bit of everything. Some of the celebrations are swanky, some are wild, and some feature world-renowned performers. All, though, have one thing in common: they’re sure to offer a New Year’s celebration to remember.
Regarding COVID-19, the same rules are in effect as pre-holiday: masks inside, optional outside.
Las Vegas New Year’s Eve 2021 features era-themed parties
Venetian and Palazzo New Year’s Eve blast into the past
The Prestige Lounges at the Venetian Resort and The Palazzo at the Venetian will host what looks to be one of the hottest NYE parties in Vegas. The Venetian’s lounge is located on the 36th floor and will feature a Roaring ‘20s-themed NYE party. Meanwhile, the Palazzo’s 23rd-floor lounge will be disco dancing into the new year with a 70’s theme. Both parties include a complimentary Champagne toast at midnight and spectacular views of the city’s midnight fireworks.
Tickets are still available for the party at the Palazzo and cost $250. Entry to the soiree includes the midnight toast, party favors, entertainment, and two drink tickets. An optional $100 drink add-on gives you open-bar access. Both parties kick off at 10 p.m.
Dancing in the Street: Fremont Street’s ’80s and ’90s Dance Party
Fremont Street may be the elder statesman of Vegas culture, but it’s certainly not lacking in flair on NYE. This year, Fremont Street will be the site of an ’80s and ’90s dance party that will include legendary acts such as Bobby Brown, Vanilla Ice, Village People, Tone Loc, and A Flock of Seagulls.
The party is available only to Freemont Street hotel guests and those who purchase tickets for the event. Tickets are $50 per person, and attendees will be required to pick up a wristband at one of five locations on or near Fremont Street. The Circa Resort & Casino will also provide Freemont Street experience access to those attending their party.
Maroon 5 takes the stage at The Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will be the site of a trio of NYE events. First, Maroon 5 will take the stage at the resort’s The Chelsea venue. Cosmo’s The Chandelier Bar will host the official NYE party from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are $125 plus and gratuity and include a live DJ, an open bar and champagne, party favors, and access to their fireworks viewing party at the Cosmo’s ice rink. The hotel offered tickets for a separate party at the ice rink, but those tickets already sold out.
New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Strip
Those revelers who aren’t interested in the bar and club scene can instead be part of the Strip’s New Year’s Eve block party. The streets will be blocked off starting at 6 p.m. to allow pedestrians to move freely about the streets of Vegas. At midnight, all will be looking up at the massive fireworks show coordinated by the city and several of the casinos.
As part of the holiday crowd control, police will enforce prohibitions on:
- Strollers
- Backpacks
- Glass bottles
- Bags larger than a standard grocery bag
The Las Vegas Monorail will operate for 44 straight hours from 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, to 3 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, and will offer a discount of $3 off the price of three-day unlimited ride passes when purchased through Dec. 30.
Omnia Nightclub rings in the new year with Steve Aoki
Legendary DJ Steve Aoki will perform at Omnia’s NYE celebration. Tickets are $100 for females through today, then $225 tomorrow. Tickets for males are $250 through today. Doors open at 8 p.m., and guests must arrive at the venue before midnight on NYE; ticketholders will not be allowed in after that. The club will be standing-room-only and offer a cash bar. The dress code is strictly enforced–no shorts, hats, sandals, sneakers, ripped clothing, athletic wear, or hard-soled shoes and boots.
Project BBQ’s s Party includes Fremont Street NYE party access
While barbecue isn’t what comes to mind when imagining an NYE in Vegas, it takes center stage at Circa Resort & Casino’s Project BBQ restaurant. The event runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m and includes a barbecue feast with unlimited drinks. Tickets are $250 plus tax and gratuity and include party favors, a midnight Champagne toast, and access to the Fremont Street’ 80s/’90s NYE dance party.
The all-you-can-eat fare will be a “small but hearty” lineup of appetizers that includes brisket empanadas, BBQ chicken, elote tacos, churro bites, pulled-pork bites, and more.
Attendees can book high-top tables for groups of four to six, while groups of 10 to 25 can book a party table.
