[toc]The first-ever High Roller online bracelet event for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was one for the record books. The $3,333 buy-in event generated the largest prize pool in Nevada online poker history. As a result, the winner, Thomas “FLOATZ” Cannuli, pocketed $322,815.
Online tournament produces $1.34 million prize pool
With 424 entries, the tournament bested the record for prize pool. The event awarded $1,335,600 in prize money.
The previous record belonged to last year’s $1,000 online bracelet event on WSOP.com. That event featured more participants, with 1,247. However, because of the lower price point, the prize pool came in at $1,184,650.
These two tournaments are the only seven-figure prize pools in Nevada online poker’s short history. There may be room for a third before the summer is over though.
WSOP.com still has one online bracelet event to go. That tournament, dubbed The Classic, is the $1,000 buy-in event that has been a part of the tournament schedule since 2015.
This year’s $1,000 event takes place on Friday, July 7 at 2 p.m. The event features unlimited re-entry, so the possibility to best last year’s field is certainly within reach.
Champion Cannuli is a former November Niner
The bulk of the tournament played out with players unaware who was who. Once the event ended though, the WSOP released the names of the final table players. The champion is a name poker fans are familiar with. Cannuli final tabled the WSOP Main Event in 2015. He finished in sixth place, collecting $1.4 million.
He did not collect quite as much this time around, but this time he did walk away with the hardware. Cannuli defeated Tara “BeatrixKiddo” Cain heads-up to take the top prize and the bracelet.
The New Jersey resident is primarily a cash game player. He did have experience on his side in one important category though. He has played plenty of hours on WSOP.com’s New Jersey client, so he knows his way around the software.
Cannuli was not the only recognizable name at the final table either. European pro Adam Owen finished in third place. More people at the final table had WSOP Circuit rings than did not. That list of ring winners who came up short of the bracelet includes:

25 Seat Scramble runs July 8
While it is not a bracelet event, WSOP.com’s 25 Seat Scramble has been a much-anticipated event ever since it launched in 2013. The online satellite guarantees 25 seats into the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event.
This year’s Scramble runs on Saturday, July 8 at 3 p.m. PT. The buy-in for the event is $200. The tournament includes unlimited re-entry. Satellites into the Scramble are running already on WSOP.com.
Meanwhile, the WSOP Main Event is just around the corner. The first of three starting days for the biggest tournament of the year begins on July 8 as well.
