Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Will Pop Its Cherry March 25, 2021

Following numerous postponements, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is formally scheduled to open its doors on March 25, 2021. The hotel is included in the Curio Collection by Hilton. Most of its amenities and the Mohegan Sun Casino will be prepared to receive customers at its opening, although not all.

Once upon a time, Virgin Las Vegas had set its sights on opening by Election Day 2020. It has certainly been an unusual and lengthy journey. Richard “Boz” Bosworth, the President and CEO of JC Hospitality which owns Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, echoes this sentiment:

Reaching this milestone and confidently announcing our opening date has been a journey. It wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing efforts of our partners and construction team.

Today, our celebration is twofold. Not only do we have the pleasure of welcoming guests back to the most thrilling resort to open in Las Vegas in years, but we also have the joy of bringing our team members back to work.

JC Hospitality collaborated with five top-tier design and construction partners to transform the property formerly known as Hard Rock Hotel and Casino into Virgin Las Vegas. This new property is a reimagined version of the previous one.

During the coronavirus pandemic, while many businesses were sidelined, Rockwell Group, Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors, Studio Collective, Taylor International Corporation, and McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. collectively contributed to the completion of the project.

What to expect at Virgin Las Vegas

Virgin Hotels is overhauling the former Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, with a blend of familiar features and new venues. The Las Vegas branch of Virgin will be unique, distinguishing itself from the brand’s other global properties.

Initially, Virgin Las Vegas will feature a casino. However, due to the hotel company’s lack of experience in operating casinos, another company will be managing the casino operations.

Mohegan Sun will manage the majority of the gaming area at Virgin Las Vegas. For the first time, Mohegan Sun will introduce its Momentum Rewards program to Las Vegas, which will be customized for the city and linked with properties in other locations.

Virgin Las Vegas will run the hotel in collaboration with Hilton and will be incorporated into the Curio Collection by Hilton.

AEG will oversee the entertainment area previously recognized as The Joint. Meanwhile, JC Hospitality is in search of a partner for the naming rights of the venue.

Lots of elements are involved in Virgin Las Vegas. Regrettably, the entire gaming floor will not be operational when the property commences operations in late March.

Betfred Sportsbook will open later this summer

Sports bettors in Nevada will need to wait a bit before they can place bets with a new sportsbook operator. Virgin Las Vegas is set to house the sportsbook run by Betfred.

The Betfred retail sportsbook is set to open this summer, while its sports betting app won’t be launched until later in the year. Sports bettors in Las Vegas will have to wait a tad longer to place bets with the company, which is already operating in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and overseas.
