WSOP Nevada online poker site Greg Merson One Year Anniversary

As they approach their one-year anniversary in Nevada, WSOP.com has revealed that they have signed their first brand ambassador, Greg Merson, the 2012 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Champion.

Merson’s signing coincides with a series of promotions and improvements announced by WSOP.com in celebration of their first anniversary.

WSOP.com has announced a series of promotional Anniversary tournaments lasting a week, with guaranteed prize-pools amounting to $70,000 up for grabs.

WSOP.com has also declared the introduction of a new geolocation tool, expanded deposit and withdrawal options, and progression towards mobile compatibility, which is anticipated to occur by the end of the year.

Greg Merson becomes WSOP.com’s first ambassador

WSOP.com has signed Merson during their week-long celebration, which will reach its peak with the historic one-year anniversary on Friday.

Initially, WSOP had firmly stated that they would not employ sponsored pros. However, the circumstances involving Merson, and possibly other future WSOP champions, might have presented too great an opportunity to ignore.

Merson was initially hesitant to become a poker ambassador despite winning the game’s most prestigious tournament. However, in the two years following his World Series of Poker victory, he has embraced the role. Over the past year, he has emerged as one of poker’s leading voices.

“Greg is a fantastic representative for poker,” stated WSOP.com’s Head of Poker, Bill Rini, in Thursday’s press release. “His love for the game, coupled with his passion and strong opinions about its future, make him an invaluable asset. He will assist us in promoting our offerings and offer the poker community a respected and experienced voice to help guide WSOP.com’s future direction.”

Merson will be promoting WSOP.com as a brand ambassador in both Nevada and New Jersey.

WSOP.com’s first year

It’s fair to assert that among all the online poker sites launched in the United States, WSOP.com has been the most stable and well-liked. It has successfully steered clear of major controversies and significant software issues.

WSOP.com has had a solid inaugural year, despite not always being smooth sailing.

“Rini reflected on the past year as one filled with excitement and numerous lessons. “The technology and regulations have functioned as planned, which is crucial for the game’s longevity,” she stated. Rini further expressed her satisfaction with the firm footing they’ve established for this newly regulated digital entertainment form in the US. She also conveyed her steadfast commitment and optimism about the business’s long-term future.

WSOP.com has registered over 100,000 accounts in Nevada, hosted 14,564 tournaments, and dealt more than 15 million hands at its cash game tables, according to WSOP.com. In its first year, the site saw over $363 million wagered. Furthermore, 245 players secured their entry into the WSOP through WSOP.com in Nevada.

During the 45th Annual WSOP, WSOP.com saw more traffic than its competitors in New Jersey, who have triple the population. This achievement made WSOP.com the top regulated online poker site in the United States.

1-Year Anniversary Promotions

The Anniversary Tournament Series is a week-long competition taking place from September 19 to 27. This series offers guaranteed prize pools amounting to $70,000. One of the highlights of this series is the “Super Sunday” event on September 21, which replaces the usual Sunday $15,000 guarantee with a $25,000 guarantee tournament.

Sale on Tournament Tickets – Players can avail a 50% discount on tournament tickets valid for one year during our 24-hour sale. The sale will run from 9:19am on September 19 until 9:19am on September 20.

Sign up for the Double Me Up promotion to earn twice as many APPs on all ring games and tournament plays from September 19-27.

New features and software enhancements

The new Geolocation Tool now enables players to confirm their location using Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for mobile device-based verification. This is anticipated to resolve a substantial amount of location verification problems associated with the mobile verification process. Players are obliged to update their WSOP.com software and keep their Wi-Fi active. It’s not necessary to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, but players must be able to detect available Wi-Fi connections and ensure no remote software is running.

The Main Cage at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas now allows players to make deposits and withdrawals in person. Players can start the process online at http://nvcage.wsop.com and then finish the transaction at the Rio. All existing online deposit and withdrawal methods are still available.

WSOP.com is on the verge of providing mobile and tablet options for its customers. We anticipate the launch of gaming options compatible with both iOS and Android later this year. With this, players will have the ability to connect their account to their mobile devices. Once the mobile app is downloaded to their device, players can sign-up/sign-in, deposit money, and participate in all game play.

Improved Payment Options – We have been concentrating on enhancing the payment methods for our players. We are glad to share that we have had promising conversations with significant credit card providers and banks, and we believe that there is a viable solution to the problems which will allow players to use the same credit cards for their regular transactions. Furthermore, we are continually exploring more payment options for our players.
