[toc]Experiencing a winning streak at poker is a sensation that is almost impossible to duplicate. Conversely, having a losing streak is an ordeal you wouldn’t even want your fiercest rival to endure.

This month, WSOP.com in Nevada is simultaneously experiencing both good and bad run. The online poker room in Nevada is celebrating by conducting a High-Low Leaderboard promotion from October 3rd to 30th.

Not your typical poker leaderboard

All online poker sites feature their own leaderboards, with WSOP.com likely having more than any other site. However, this particular leaderboard is unique. Prizes are not only awarded to those with the highest points but also to those at the bottom of the leaderboard.

To begin, players must choose to participate in the promotion. This can be done by clicking the link provided in the promotional emails sent by WSOP.com. If you didn’t get an email, you could also reach out to support and request to participate.

After you’ve registered for the contest, begin participating in multi-table tournaments (MTT). Points are awarded to players based on their final position in each MTT they compete in.

WSOP.com determines leaderboard points by subtracting the amount spent on buy-ins from the total amount a player won or lost each day. But don’t think you can just buy into one event, finish last, and appear on the Low leaderboard. To qualify, players need to accumulate a minimum of 10 leaderboard points.

Furthermore, you are only allowed to appear on a single leaderboard. Hence, even if a few people participated and you qualified for both the Low and High leaderboard, your name would only be featured on one of them.

$2,000 in cash and prizes each week

The leaderboards are reset every week. Each week starts from midnight on Tuesday and ends at 11:59 p.m. on the next Monday.

Each week concludes with the site distributing cash and prizes worth $2,000. A slice of this pie is awarded to the top 20 finishers on every leaderboard.

Winners on the High leaderboard receive the majority of available prizes, with $1,500 in prizes allocated to them. Funds will be deposited into the accounts of the top 20 finishers in the following amounts:

    $300, $215, $150, $125, $100, $75, $70, $65, $60, $55, $50, $45, $40, $35, $30, $25, $20, $15, $15, $10.

The remaining $500 in awards is allocated to the Low leaderboard. While cash is deposited into the accounts of the High leaderboard winners, those on the Low leaderboard receive their winnings in the form of bonuses, merchandise, and tournament tickets (trt). The distribution is as follows:

  1. $100 trt
  2. $50 for one treatment, $30 for second treatment, $20 each for two treatments
  3. $30 trt (3-$10 trts)
